The Aberdeen Mega-Hyper New Stadium Thread

£15-20 million for the sale of the land at Pittodrie? What sort of fantasy land stuff is this? It's hardly a prime location.

There is nothing near the proposed stadium.

This stadium project will never happen, just like Kingswells and Loirston before it. Nothing ever gets done in Aberdeen unless it's ruining a square containing two of the city's few architectural landmarks.

Come on now, be fair.

They could sell it and extend that Trinity place next door, there's people dying to get in there.

We've shat all over the Edinburgh clubs for 5 years now. With their mishaps on the park, often in the lower tier, they've clung to the usual stadium arguments as a comfort blanket.

Last season I'll give you, but that's it.

In the 10 years between 1998 and 2007 Aberdeen FC traded at a cumulative loss of almost £20M.   10 straight years of trading losses ranging from half a million quid to over £3M. On turnovers that never bettered £8M. This had nothing to do with patching up Pittodrie or building the RDS, it had everything to do with hopeless financial management.

And Aberdeen fans had the cheek to talk about our overspending. heh.png

Nice work, m8.

I agree with that to some extent, it explains why they've had larger crowds recently. Things change quickly in football though. A few years ago Hibs were a shambles with 9/10k crowds and Hearts weren't selling out Tynecastle. Every club has peaks and troughs. We may win the Scottish Cup in a couple of years or get taken over by a Lithuanian crook.

Yet were still getting better crowds than Aberdeen are now, champ.

Millions of our revenue comes from the RDS. It is the reason we have millions more money than the likes of Hearts. A ground of bus shelters with no revenue streams would not have been any use. We should have probably redeveloped at the time we owned the land but not with bus shelter stands.

Until our state of the art main stand is completed, you mean.

Why would you need more than two non 'bus shelter' stands? I'd hate it if the Gorgie, Wheatfield and Roseburn weren't the way they are. Tynecastle is going to be as near to perfect as could be hoped for in the coming months.

The first page of this thread just goes to show how much Paolo really doesn't care. Although he seems to care an awful lot about how Aberdeen are much much better than Hearts in every single way.

Except for their attendances, stadium, training facilities, general infrastructure and medium and long term future.

It's going to be beautiful watching them fall from 'grace' in the coming years when the full force of this shit show becomes apparent and they are subsequently left in our wake.

Now - back to the wrestling forum you go, you wee weirdo. 4U0m6pP.png

The Gorgie Suite brings in a decent whack of cash from that bus shelter, too.

Tynecastle was a superior stadium to Pittodrie before the main stand revamp and will be miles ahead when it is finished.

Aberdeen's proposed new stadium could have the finest hospitality suites in the land, it's not going to make much difference when the crowds dwindle further.

Paulo trying to get one over Aberdeen again based on his own wild fantasies about the future landscape of Scottish football. His last gaze into the crystal ball told us that Hearts would finish ahead of Aberdeen due to their superior head to head record against us.

We finished thirty points ahead of Hearts, conceding one goal against them in four games.

What about the season before, where we finished above you too? Or the season before that where we were literally out of your league? Or the season before that where we won a trophy, finished third and you got relegated? Or the season before that, where we also finished above you?

Missed that we finished above Hearts in season 2012/13 too. 5 years of being better than them it is!

Not sure what Aberdeen finishing second in the league for a few years with no credible opposition has to do with the club and its supporters sleepwalking their way from a dung heap to an identikit stadium in the middle of nowhere but you crack on lads.

No offence but that post had no relevance to anything whatsoever.

I'm sure they did try to do a joint project with the Aberdeen Uni up at the Balgownie playing fields, but it was decided that they couldn't accommodate what the university wanted and what the club wanted in the same scheme.

Another poor decision by the guy pushing through this disaster then?

Well, to be sure over the same period the wonderful Mr. Romanov did manage to run up cumulative losses of over £37M, which makes Stewarty look like a paragon of financial virtue by comparison.

Having said that I miss Vlad, he brought some colour to our game...mostly red I suppose but, y'know

Possibly not but you are a standard bitter, misinformed Jambo who pays themselves on the back over attendances despite the dons out performing you year after year.

Any evidence of this?
