Only on episode 3 but why would they have to kidnap and smuggle Russian women to work in Israel as PR girls and spies, and probably hoors? A decent wedge would have done it. And why shoot one of them in both legs, damaging the merchandise?

People smuggling is a big part of the real life 'McMafias' I think. Maybe just to show the sort of shady shit these apparent high flying businessmen are really into.

I think she was just left to die after being shot, took it to be a warning to the other girls.

You might be right, but I think it would be cheaper just to recruit classy prostitutes in Moscow, explaining the job.

The aim wasn’t for a classy prostitute. It was for a specific type of girl who could gather trust and information by being innocent and vulnerable. Plus with her mother’s illness she would do it a lot cheaper than a high class expensive hooker.

The cost to recruit her full time would be substantially less than employing someone.

Considering the monetary value of the information they were seeking, it would be worth paying someone who wasn't raging about what you'd done, never mind paying off all the middlemen smuggling her from Egypt into Israel, not easy. You smuggle slaves into prostitution, not PR work and espionage.

Agree with you there. People trafficking is obviously a horrific business and the way she was taken was a bit gritty but then it didnt really lead where you thought it would. Maybe they shyed away from dealing with it head on?

But then it would be easier for someone who is doing it for a job to walk away. If you've been trafficked and your only escape is by doing the job to your bosses satisfaction then you've no other choice!

Unless the rich gangster you're trying to get info out of offers to protect your mother, kill your boss and help you escape. Your loyalty would be zero. Only up to episode 3 or 4 I think so no spoilers please!

James Norton

I have to agree. Norton was not believable as a shrewd banker who could turn into a gangster. Surely there were better alternatives.

David Strathairn, on the other hand, was excellent. He was very good in the Jason Bourne movies too.
