When a broadcaster sees resignation on air as a good thing they are straight in to entertainment value. News gatherers put a story together. The editor decides if it's newsworthy. A Minister resigning is obviously newsworthy. If it flips into agenda setting then we are in dangerous territory. Trump’s “go home” speech would have been, in any other time and place, a sackable offence, and certainly an impeachable one had the GOP not sold its soul for a handful of rooms in a Florida golf resort.The complete over-reaction to previous statements he has made - the lungs/heart one for example - has allowed things like this to sail on through. My recollection of the headlines goes something like Main BBC News channel "Boris booed" Sky News "Boris booed" The Nine (BBC Scotland Channel) - "Boris booed" Reporting Scotland (Flagship BBC1 primetime regional news) "Prime Minister Johnson was met with both cheers and boos as he visited Bute House" One of these programmes appears to have a different agenda from the rest.
