The Binos vThe Blue Brazil

Recommended Posts

A fairly pedestrian game of football. The tempo was raised with the exhibition of walking football at half-time. Teams from opposite ends of the league...Cowdenbeath  were never it, or out of it. Indeed after their second goal they could have gone on and won the match.

I will watch how Blue Brazil finish the season. They will definitely be picking up points.

Unbeaten in 4 and not a bad result to be fair. We have to keep going and see where it takes us. We are now not so easy to beat so if it is the playoff then we certainly have a chance.

Realistically, we were not going to win every game left, so a draw is ok if we can pick it up again on Tuesday. All we can do is keep playing the way we are and we will have a good chance. If Buchanan had put the late chance towards either corner of the goal we could have won, but he hit it straight at the keeper. However, he did well with his goal. Looked like he was trying to get it on his right foot and he realised that if he did, the defender would get a challenge in. Took it perfect with his left with only a tight spot to aim for.

Sheerin excellent again. Game was there to be won, but we sat a bit deep at times and a few players looked a bit tired and maybe playing with knocks.

Hope everyone is fit for Tuesday, as it will be a tough match. Hope Sheerin bangs a few in on Tuesday. Think he will do well against Clyde.

Rapist and Racist Rovers

Remind me, who's your chairman again.....?

Maybe he could do a wee turn at half time, I hear he knows a song or two

That aside, I expect your lot to give us a very hard game on Tuesday. Did you deliberately plan your Lazarus tribute act to coincide with Easter?

I honesty felt, as a team, we looked shattered today and could of done better. A performance like that, against a team that has improved massively and is fighting for it’s life, makes a draw a very fair result.

I felt that we were poor at the back and that Sheerin bossed things uo there, he might be over weight and look more like a rugby player than a footballer, but he played like a battering ram against Barr & McGeachie. I also thought we were poor in the final third, and apart from win a soft penalty Macdonald contributed very little and Kav was just never in the races.

McLaughlan can be proud of his efforts however, played well and took his goal well, but other than the goal, all his good work was done outwith the final third.

MOTM has to go to Cowden‘s “man bunn man” (Malcolm???) absolutely outstanding play by him and if he keeps that up, he’ll not be at this level for long.

We’ll move on from the match, a point is a point, but if Cowden can play like that over the next 7,8 or 10 weeks, then they’ll be a League 2 side again next season.

Man bunn man, haha.

He’s on loan from Ross County so he’s already signed at a higher level.

Been a decent loan signing for us although he has had better games than today but he took his goal with great aplomb and had a good game.

Pretty rubbish first half but it was all Cowden in the second period. Sheerin has made a huge difference, he bossed the Stirling defenders who couldn't get the ball of him. Heads never went down after going behind twice and we really should have won.

Only wish we had started the season with these players. We'd be at the other end of the table.

The penalty we gave away is criminal, gifting them a goal from nothing.

The defending at their first was powder, showing our frailty. Expected stirling to be a tougher opponent.

fully deserved at least the draw and could have won it.

really hope Gilfillan is ok but it’s a big ask for everyone to be fit and on top of their game tue/ sat for a few continuous weeks.

first half saw us with Robbie and Kyle the centre mid pairing. This can’t happen again.

felt Bollan was too slow making a change to put the speed merchant Reilly on, surely he should get a bit longer to show what he can do.

What can we say about Sheerin? When he gets a head of steam up he had a 20 minute burst where he was almost unplayable before blowing a gasket.

You cant help but take to him, if only he was a bit fitter when he has a yard on his man he would be able to stay ahead of him and cause damage.

Malcolm is a very good player. All the team are playing better now and the displays by Malcolm and Sheerin are making a big difference and motivating the rest of the squad.

Agree. Also thought we changed it too late. Reilly is rapid and I think he could make a real difference in games if given more time.

Another good performance. A month ago, we would have crumbled after going a goal down but we have a lot more fight now.

Hopefully Gilfillan isn't out for too long as Rumsby gave away another penalty when we came on. He's having an awful season.

Luke didn't do too badly in his first start - few nice touches and passes. Sheerin and Malcolm were standouts and Buchanan actually looks like a player.

Craig Wight is shite. What is Mackay thinking?

Also, what was with the weird silent 'Time For Change' campaign? Normally a vague banner would have a website or something on it where you could get more information - not this one.

Too cut a long story short. Its about the trust board acting like utter snakes. They appointed a trust chairman without actually holding a vote.

ETA: Also the way they've gone about trying to tarnish Stuart Browns name. Power has got to their heads, its time for them to go.

None of that is clear from the banner. Obviously it's not aimed at away fans but they were down the away end holding up the banner and getting their photo taken.

I don’t think he actually did much, if anything wrong on Saturday. We have a talented young Goalkeeper in Cammy Binnie, who Mackay has said is his number 1 (which is why Chris Smith left the club in the summer) but he wanted an experienced Goalkeeper to push Binnie and that he can use to take Binnie out of the firing line every now and again, and that’s what is happening now.

Also, what was with the weird silent 'Time For Change' campaign? Normally a vague banner would have a website or something on it where you could get more information - not this one.

As Jake has said, it’s a pressure group aimed at changing the Trust board, for a number of reasons. If you are that interested, there is a Facebook page, SAFC - Time For Change

They went down towards the away fans because there is home fans down that way. Obviously would be confusing for Cowden fans who didn't have a clue what was going on.
