Daylight robbery. When Peterhead weren’t hoofing the ball forward, they were halting Elgin’s footballers illegally. Why Ferry wasn’t sent off for several fouls after being cautioned only the referee knows. Panic in the Peterhead defence, good saves from their keeper, then a brilliant swerving shot off the post to safety with the defence nowhere. Peterhead played not to lose, certainly did not deserve anything from the game.

Not for the first time at Borough Briggs the visitors outplayed.

When was the last time we scored against Peterhead?

Years ago. Five games this season, 5 defeats and no goals at all against us. Can we play you every week?

Aye, and about 300 conceded by us. Please win the league so we don't have to be humiliated next season.

Its partly in your own hands, you need to beat Montrose for it to be possible as well as taking care of our own game of course.

Thought Elgin bossed tha 1st half and Peterhead took over midway through the 2nd. It was shear determination to stay in the title race that resulted on J Brown's headed goal from W Gibson's set-piece delivery. And that as they say was that !

The SFA managed again to supply in Euan Anderson their usual Lack-of-Quality official, managing with ease to infuriate both sets of supporters. His turning down of the "penalty claim" against Alan Smith on the left side near his own team's dug-out was outrageously bad, however it was par for Anderson's course, he was shockingly bad, what do assesors actually write in their reports???

It has to be said that Elgin were a team who are much improved from earlier in the season and surely must be at least play-off contenders next season if they can keep their squad together.

Shout out for Greg Fleming, couple of worldy saves in second half, and Alan Smith for his selfless running and harrying, no MOM for me better still it was a team performance grinding out  a MUST-WIN.

Enjoyed the game and thought we were unlucky not to get something from it. Defensively much better. I was disappointed with Peterhead, maybe nerves but for a team who has humped us consistently this season they seemed to have a lack of desire to force the game and look for the win. They showed little creativity and resorted to lumping the ball forward which ultimately led to the goal.

Hopefully we can keep our main players and bring in a couple of quality additions to have a go for promotion next season.
