The Clyde FC 2018-19 Thread

Whilst the club are not going to hold him back, Goody is not going to force the move (both have stated this) and unless the money offered to the club is sufficient he will see out his contract (hopefully more years to come also by that’s probably a long shot).

Would be surprised if Livi were willing, and able, to part with the cash to get close to signing him.

Livi have just signed Sibbald on a two year deal so I wouldn't be surprised at all that they have the cash necessary. Having Lithgow and Gallagher on the books as well would show they aren't adverse to having players with a checkered pass.

He can't have another season in this league. It's just ridiculously below where he should be at despite the cloud that surrounds him.

asking price of 250k for Goodwillie.

That's surely a wind-up?

If that's truly what the Clyde Chairman wants for him it makes a mockery of the righteous "rehabilitation" moral high ground he previously claimed the club were occupying when they signed him, and instead it now smacks of sheer opportunism. Clever commercial foresight and all that, but spare us all the liberal preaching that went with it, let alone the fake claims that the price is simply to ward other clubs off.

The first club to offer anything in the region of £80k will be shown the red carpet as Clyde can't afford to turn that sort of money down if they are serious about building a championship winning side this coming season.

Did "amateur" Queens Park not demand a transfer fee from Dundee United for the "amateur" player Andrew Robertson settling on a 10% cut of a future transfer fee?

This amounted to "amateur" Queens Park receiving £300000.

Do us all a favour and spare us your irrelevant preaching!

That would be a good point haufdaft, if it was even close to the facts, but why let them get in the way of your attempt to deflect from the points I raised. No, QP did not demand a transfer fee from Dundee Utd., but we asked for a compensation fee at the level that UEFA decreed should be provided for investment (time and resource) in a youth player. Stupidly the DU chairman said he would give us 10% of any sell-on value instead, doubting that Robertson could make the jump from amateur to full time football, so we called his bluff and he was even more stupid to put it in writing. That £300k was either ploughed back into all our youth teams, or went into the pockets of our Committee. You seem to be a clever chap, so I'll let you work out which.

Now stop being a bitch and address the issues I raised please.
