Nothing more has been said about his move to Australia. I’d be surprised if we haven’t spoken to him at this stage. The one thing you could say about Griffiths is that he's a bit of a dead ball specialist which seems to be a skill which is sadly lacking in players nowadays. I've said it before but there seems to be a situation in modern football where basic footballing skills and ball work have been sacrificed in favour of athleticism, stamina and workrate. It might look good in "stats" but as a viewing spectacle it's pretty grim stuff at times !!!

Difficult to sell yourself as the reliable liaison between the players and manager when rumours abound that you were a key figure in uniting the dressing room against the previous manager of course. The book that was made of that season remains on my living room shelf unread to this day, much as the club tie bought for me during the same Christmas remains in its cellophane (I haven't worn a tie since high school and have little intention of that changing).

I know DJ the fitness coach said Reid and McKenzie felt stabbed in the back by him so probably some truth in it. Maybe would be a bad idea as Roberts did seem to fall out with even mild mannered guys like Crawford although he did hate our rat of a RB so that goes in the + column.
ayrunitedfw
Going back to the Robert era did we ever find out the player Lachlan Cameron was talking about who said he’s the only one that’s been at Ayr in his time as chairman that wouldn’t be welcome back? Everyone presumed it was Tiffioney but he replied to someone saying it wasn’t him.

AYRSHIRE_ANGUS
They say the quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach and to be fair it is quite true. Thoroughly enjoyed munching on a pepperoni pizza and quaffing a bottle of Ayr Brewing Company ale in the Hub beer garden before the game knowing some of the proceeds were going back into the club. I noticed the huge queue at half time for the new van on the terracing - can anyone post a review?

I mean that was why I never considered opening it in the first place. Baffling they even released it considering how the season went.

There's always one muppet of a manager who's willing to give a striker one last chance but I doubt that muppet is Imrie and I doubt we can afford him. Obviously if we sign him it's a master stroke and the thumb is clearly back to his best Griffiths career has obviously very quickly dived off the rails to the point a natural finisher like him cant even find a club. But 'past it for years' is a bit of an exaggeration. He played for Scotland a scored the 1st penalty in THAT playoff win in Nov 20. Less than 2 years ago.

He hasn't managed double figures in the goalscoring charts since 2016/17 and, in the years since, a fair percentage of his goals have been from set pieces. His ability to shuffle onto the park and his a penalty has never been in doubt.

We could do with him if we were playing 3 in midfield but as I said before if it was going to happen it would have happened already

Apart from this we have Bangala to come in so we definitely don't need any more cover in this area. As we all know, the major priority is definitely a goalscorer to play alongside Dipo and also a more advanced Midfield type and dead ball specialist if such a player still exists.
