Right someone feed the Panda his morning bamboo and get him to announce some signings.

I’ve got one more week off then I need think about work again and I want Logan Chalmers in an Ayr jersey before this happens thank you.

There are some amount of tears being Shed on the match thread. f**k me

maybe it’s the proximity to Hunterston or something but is there a more tedious support than Morton’s? Relentlessly boring.

The T is silent.

With regards to Logan Chalmers it's a chance for the club to show a real sign of ambition. With ICT rumoured to be interested it would be a statement of intent if we managed to get the deal over the line. It seems like every time we've competed with a rival club for a player this close season we've lost. It would also help lift a fan base who are quite rightly scunnered after Saturday.

Fully expect him to sign for ICT and us to get some more construction porn.

The club isn’t interested in statements of intent any more. None of the signings scream, we are going to the next level.
They look like they are going for a slow burn and nurture talent rather than buy it.

The only time we've ever done that in my lifetime was the few years in the Barr era and look where that got us !!

In reality, why should we expect to be above clubs like Dundee United, Dunfermline, Partick as our support base and infrastructure is nowhere near any of those clubs. Smith is doing the right thing by addressing the infrastructure side and also promoting the club at grassroots level, however as much as we all want to be signing a host of stars, the reality is that we'd be living way outwith our means in doing so.

That's not to say we shouldn't be using the cash made from Dipo and last year to ensure we have a team worthy of competing in this league and once again challenging for the play offs but ultimately we'll have a budget and that budget will have to be spent the best way possible. Unfortunately that seems to be the issue just now as we're stuck with a lot of dead wood and seem to be struggling for a decent quality starting 11 but instead have a group of around 20 who are much of a muchness.

The bottom line is that we need to sign at least 3 definite starters for this level otherwise it could be a long season....

As long as the town doesn’t support you, you’re doomed to another generation in the lower leagues. Shame.

You must have had mixed feelings about beating your big team? How was the atmosphere down at the lodge after?

Bit ironic as you’ve got a thousand hardcore fans and the rest of your town supports Sevco. Half and half scarves 😀

I’ve seen the line “every time we’ve competed for a player with another team in this division we’ve lost out” a few times. Is it not pretty well known that we were both in for Stanger from Alloa?

Are Murphy and McGeady not 'statement of intent signings'?

depends on the intent. Both players are obviously on the way down and are the type of signings that every championship team make. They are always a gamble because their decline may have already passed the Championship level by the time they leave the Premier as we have found out only too often.

Do you ever wonder how you can be so far behind us for so long?

It's probably because we never got £13 million of debt written off by the Banks.

It does improve the experience that's very true. Though you still see when they posted.

Interestingly for large tracts of last season when K*lle were dung they were an infrequent visitor on this thread.

They still are dung. One swallow doesn't make a summer.
