Richey Edwards
Should sign Ciaran Diver from Beith absolutely tremendous goal return could be the new Michael Moffat or the new Ian Cashmore will never knows unless we try. Spoiler Was that a passable impression?
diegomarahenry
We are going to make a c**t of this window as well, aren't we ? Another window where clubs do excellent business early and we are at an all night garage on the last hour of the last day tying to find something that will do.

The issue we’ve got is…let’s say Bullen loses to Arbroath and we sack him, we’re now going to have to get a good new manager in quick and get the signings he wants all in the space of 2 weeks which don’t see happening. Alternatively if he beats Arbroath and stays…He’s going to have to make at least 2 signings to back this team up with some quality…and I’m feared that Graeme Mathie will sign someone who has no familiarity with the Scottish leagues and instead someone from English Non-League which I think is the complete wrong move. Maybe a short-term loan from a premiership club or English L1 or L2? Even a player with some experience in a decent standard of football to keep us up this season?

AyrAtlanta
Based on our abysmal record at acquiring football players, I’d say in blackjack terms, we’re sitting with a hand of about 16 right now. If we stick with what we’ve got, the dealers probably going to win and we’ll be doomed. If we take a card and sign a couple, chances are they’ll be shite and we bust anyway.

Thumper
Mark Shankland, there's a name from the past. He's only a wee bit older now than Moffat was when he signed.

We’ll get hit with the ‘we made offers to all the players X/Y signed this window’ chat again before signing some non entity from Tunbridge Wells at the arse end of the window

He was too slow when he was 18 to be a pro. He’s now older and when I saw him play earlier in the season, he was burst after 15 minutes and he was drenched in sweat.

Nothing like a legacy player. He told his story in one of the papers about his time at Ayr. When he was freed, he said Daziel was sitting with his feet on the desk in his office in a portacabin. He told him that the club was going in a different direction and they were going with quality. All he lacked was a big cigar and he’d have the full - second hand car dealer look

Ayr held his registration and maybe still do, meaning if he went pro, the club would be due a development fee. He made a plea to Cameron a few years ago, maybe around the game Auchinleck put a senior team out the Scottish cup live on the telly….cant remember who……To rip up the terms to allow him to sign for someone, think it was Stenny at the time.

I think once he turned a certain age he was free to go where he wanted without us getting a fee. The fact he’s never made it back out the juniors tells you he wasn’t going to be good enough.

I don’t know if we still do but we did, for a long time after he left the club. Clubs invest fortunes in players and can make money years after. Shankland seems to put a lot of blame at our door and not an awful lot at his own. Edited January 11 by BukyOHare

He simply wasn't quick enough for any level higher than where he is. He also looked like he plays with no passion or heart. Also raging that when him and Robbie Crawford had their trial at Liverpool he had his flat picked out and wasn't quiet about it. Assumed Liverpool would sign him.
D'Jaffo
Obviously we don’t talk about the Talbot game but his shape would’ve made Paul Cairney look fit. He did not have the work rate or desire to play professionally. The fact he’s 28 and playing for Troon tells you that. Wonder if he still blames the club for the lack of professional career.
