Manchester United have just sent this statement: “Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone emergency surgery today for a brain haemorrhage. The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to optimise his recovery. His family request privacy in this matter.”

Ach, he's not fared too bad, still feel like a youngster but remember watching him in an Ayr strip.

An absolute hero. Quite simply, a guy you take for granted is just going to live to 100.

Hopefully he pulls through this.
