Cowdenbeath 2018-2019

Great idea regarding social media videos for the club for both matches, interviews pre match build up etc

This is something we have been trying to push for a while but comes down to who is willing to volunteer so great to see Alan's efforts in this area and others coming forward . I think it helps increase fan engagement and reaches out to the likes of fans like Ron.

To cover costs you could perhaps do what other clubs do and charge an annual subscription say just £10 per year I'm sure plenty of people particularly those that cannot attend games due to geography etc would be happy to pay. The subscription could even go into Club 135 as a fundraising idea.

Alan perhaps the videos you have been taking could be posted from the official Cowdenbeath F.C if club agreeable so you can reach out to a wider audience under the Cowden brand.

As an 'out-of-towner', I've definitely got to agree about the online opportunities the club should be embracing in this age of social media.

Speaking from experience as a programme/fanzine editor and co-owner of a football club, the importance of this really can't be underestimated in this ever-changing world dictated by technology and the net. Of course, it is impossible to please everyone with whatever you produce (unless it's the Blue Brazilian, which is almost flawless), but I've always though that if the fans, town and everyone associated with Cowdenbeath matched the levels of commitment and quality that is displayed in the programme's production then the team and club could certainly punch above its weight for a former mining town with little income from the minimal crowds.

One thing Cowden have more than most clubs in the lower leagues - and probably a reason that I along with many others have felt a connection to The Miners on our travels - is that there's something about whatever it is.... the ground, the place, the history, social responsibility in days gone by and heritage of a proud and loyal mining community that stands out. Whilst locally Cowden might not be greatly supported in matchgoing numbers, unlike many clubs with similar budgets and supports, you do have a worldwide, er, notoriety and affection that is rare to find and must be embraced.

I'd love to have more time to commit to promoting the name of a club that represents such a wonderful part of the world and that boasts such a proud all-embracing socialist conscience.

I feel I'm rambling now but, essentially, what I'm saying is that Cowdenbeath FC.... the Blue Brazil... fondly known by many sad b*****ds like myself all over the world, should be maximising the world wide web to tap into the wider footballing market whilst also maintaining the uniqueness of the club that attracts us outsider oddballs to a random place in Fife.

Positivity and proactivity must be natural routes to take for the sake of any club's survival. In such a dog eat dog world, and seeing how fragile a club's existence can be with the play-off games over the last couple of years, it really is so vital not to get left behind.

Anything that helps promote the club can only be a good thing.

Over to you....

How about some phone cases? A decent phone case with some branding would be much more sellable than a power bank, for example. You wouldn’t want to go over the top with them but if it was of decent quality and looked good you’d definitely shift some.

Muzz good idea I'll look into.

The main issue I see is the range of phone cases versus volume given the range of phones people use android, Samsung specific iPhone 5,6.7.8. including plus versions.

The beauty of the  power banks is it fits all versions  so scalable to mange quantity & price and has a  2 year warranty.

Keep the suggestions coming mate will look at them all from a feasibility point.

Again appreciated

My wife got me a phone case made couple of years ago. It got a lot of people talking about the club when they saw my phone.

Al as I said to Muzz I think a nice idea however for a club our size quite difficult to deliver due to the ranges of phones people use. I 've found one company  that may be able to do this with covers  including iPhone 5, 6, 6 plus 7, 7 plus, 8 and X, as well as Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and Samsung Galaxy Note 5.

However minimum quantity 50 for each type then delivery costs etc. Some companies will produce minimum quantities of 25 others want 500 and their rages are not as extensive with a limited number of phones covered .

You can get one off's average price ex delivery around £14 excluding delivery  so in order to make  a margin  bearing in mind VAT I'm not sure the price would be attractive.

However thee may be another way so say for example each mascot gets photographed with bluebell we could offer a service to create a phone case for parents & family members as a momentum with them advising the phone they have. It would depend on then there being a case capable of personalisation being available and again based on production costs would be pretty costly.

Once again ideas and suggestions very welcome and appreciated hope my explanation makes sense. Cheers
