Granny Danger
There are Labour MPs who would rather have a Tory government with an austerity agenda than have a Labour PM who is critical of Israel. Their local party activists and the electorate who vote/voted for them have every right to be very angry.
Detournement
It's not really about Israel, that's just the smear which has gotten some traction. It's about preventing Labour getting into government and fighting back against neoliberalism.
Cerberus
The pro-Conservative media are trying to bring him down. He probably is antisemitic but he definitely is an arsehole so the ends justify the means.

Only thing I've seen was him sympathising with the artist who made this mural which was accused of being anti semitic, which it obviously is, the artist admitted that was his intention, and used the Rockefeller dog whistle in Corbyn's message of support, saying that he had had a mural scrubbed because of Lenin being included.
LongTimeLurker
Think the concern that some people have revolves around why certain left-wingers (George Galloway is the poster child for this) choose to make Israel their cause celebre when there are so many other possible causes to champion around the world. Why for example is the return of Palestinians exiled in the 1940s more important than that of the Sudeten Germans and if the latter can be forgotten about in the name of pragmatism and expediency and because people have simply got on with their lives in the interim, why can't that approach also not apply in the Middle East?

I think the 'Zionist-Bailrite-anti-Corbyn' cabal have shot their load tbh, all these anti Semitic smears aren't working, they can't actually point to anything?.. Their digging up events from 8 years ago he attended as proof of "Corbyns Labour" Anti-semitic 'problem' Where were the Labour party when he attended this event in 2010?

What people? In all the discussion around the Palestinians I have never heard that concern expressed. If it were it would rightly dismissed as whataboutery.

I'd say the influence Israel backed by the US has over us in the middle East makes the issue far more prominent than the Sudetenland , maybe if 80% of our Governments party were members of 'Freinds of Sudetenland' ...you might have a point.

Chapelhall chap
I think the "Sudeten Germans" were actually Austrian citizens( German speaking) in 1918 when they were put into Czechoslovakia after the peace treaties. They largely aided the Nazi takeover in 1938 which was then approved by the appeasers in the Munich Conference. When the Nazis lost in 1945 these "Germans" were expelled from Czechoslovakia as were many Germans who had been given land in Poland by the Nazi regime. There was very little sympathy for such Germans given what has taken place in those years.

It'll be great when all the Nationalist Governments in Eastern Europe find Nationalist Governments springing up in the West in Bannon and Tommy's new vision. How come Poland got Danzig for starters, the schweinhunde? And the minority Russians in the Baltics rioting and begging Uncle Vladimir to come and save them. Glorious times.
LongTimeLurker
Do any Sudeten Germans want to leave their comfortable housesrefugee camps and BMW's and return to the Czech republic? That was my point. If after 70 years they have been able to move on and almost nobody takes that seriously any more, why do some people on the left like George Galloway still see the status of Israel inside of its 1948 borders as being open to question?
