Robert James
On 18/06/2019 at 18:27, San Starko Rover said: As always this all rolls back to the SFA and their inability to sort out a pyramid. The WRJFA aren't bothered as they believe TJ will sort it out and they'll be in eventually (TJ and IM told them this) it's still a done deal as far as they're concerned if only the EOS would stop being difficult. The SFA should have clearly stated from the start if in the pyramid you are SFA and not SJFA. West clubs would then have 3 options 1. Remain Junior 2. Join SOS 3. Demand a WOS. Now the WRJFA belive they can remain Junior (mon the Grade!) and be in the pyramid. The only waty you'll get them to move is if the SFA clearly state the SJFA will not be in the pyramid at any level but they've not got the balls to do that so TJ will keep his wee empire and continue his misinformation crusade. Your suggestion is probably the only way ahead. However, it may be worthwhile (in addition) for the SFA to send a circular to all West junior clubs, saying that it intends to form a West senior league in 2020/21, and invites clubs to give an expression of interest in joining, by (say) 1st January 2020. The correspondence should also state very briefly the position regarding membership in relation to licensing, floodlights, benefits available to clubs via grants, and participation in the Scottish Cup, etc.

Jason King
...ask the SJFA about why they fear the future.
FairWeatherFan
I just noticed that the Lowland League have updated their Rules and Regulations. It doesn't appear to have been updated in the usual place but http://slfl.co.uk/rules/lowland-league-rules/ Haven't properly looked it over for specific changes but it looks like they've put some thought into all the variations that could take place following the Selkirk example.
LongTimeLurker
Looks a lot more sensible than what they had previously.
never been to scotland
It's good that there is clarity but the bottom club in a 16 team league should always be relegated regardless of what is going on. The pyramid needs more movement.
LongTimeLurker
Agree in principle, but I think in practical terms that there is probably always going to be a licensed EoS champion for the foreseeable future. The main problem might be next season if clubs like Bo'ness United, Musselburgh or Camelon don't get licensed in time, but all the likely suspects on that are trying to get it done and the handling of Bonnyrigg Rose's application by the LL Board has set a useful precedent.

LongTimeLurker
You can always use the best-placed licensed club.

This clarification is welcome, but they need to increase promotion spots from EoS to the LL already.

Blame the PWG goings on, or lack of goings on. Its all tied up in the LL-EOS-SOS-SFA agreement.

The Lowland League are perfectly capable of increasing the number of relegation spots without the involvement of the PWG.

In all honesty currently with the SOSFL not really wanting promoted or licenced clubs to go up their is no need too

Then who gets promoted? Just go to applications until the pwg formalise a process between tiers 5&6 in the Lowland.
