Replays
He was on loan at Berwick a while back. Don’t think he did very well either. May have kicked on a bit now, mind you.
Domino the Dug
Clearly Rankin assisting, given his u19 role.
Sao Paulo
Be pleased with Petkov. He'd bring both the sheer stature we're missing in the middle of the defence and a reasonably level 'distribution head' if his midfield experience has rubbed off at all. Wee compilation video here (playing as a defender, Levein confirmed that he's only been playing there for the last season or so, having been a midfielder before):
Sao Paulo
Some never before seen bounce game footage in there...!
Sao Paulo
We're clearly not looking for another experienced option at the back, which means - not unreasonably - McNiff and Rumsby will need to take the lead. Rumsby plays 'experienced' anyway, so that's not too worrying. No way Howie's better now, or as a prospect, than Cogill. However, Lennon's a magician when it comes to getting the potential from players, so here's hoping that goes well. The Petkov story is here, btw: https://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/sport/football/hearts/latest-hearts-news/alex-petkov-s-hearts-future-to-be-decided-as-clyde-seek-loan-deal-1-4958084
Tony Wonder
Think Petkov could do well for you. He struggled a bit at Berwick by all accounts but was there as a midfielder, in the last year he's moved to centre half and done pretty well, earning an extension and voted reserve player of the year. Would be interested to see how he gets on if it goes through. Only 19 and a Bulgarian u21.
the_bully_wee
I will be very disappointed if we sign Petkov and fail to appropriate Berwick fans' wonderful Tom Jones tribute to him: Petkov, Petkov, Alex Petkov, He's on loan from the Jambos to play for Danny Lennon Petkov, Petkov, Alex Petkov, A Bulgarian who turns me on Edited July 3, 2019 by the_bully_wee
HughieMc
“especially if we were offering Lang a deal (which no doubt would’ve been the biggest wage packet on offer) and it was rejected“ where do you get this from? Why are you so sure he was offered the biggest wage packet- over mcstay- Grant- McNiff- Rankin and others.

CM.
Seen highlights earlier. Disappointing goals to concede but the back 4 last night won't be anywhere near the starting one so not too concerned about that yet. We do need another body or 2 in there though (a natural left back pretty please, not the trialist one from the last 2 games even prettier please). 2 good assists from Syvertsen and he was really sharp on Saturday too. I'm really looking forward to seeing him when the real stuff kicks off with a full pre season behind him. Gem of a player.
Clyde01
Defence still needs work imo. At the minute it’s most likely Cuddihy, rumsby, howie, mcniffWhich looks not bad but howie is untested at this level. There is also no real cover apart from Duffie at RB. Fitzpatrick does not look great so far, need another 1 or 2 cbs and a specialist lb.Take it the peter grant rumour was pish? Shame, that would have been a right good signing.
clyde_darren
Syversten gets better with every game he plays. Big season for him and i reckon he’ll be one of the first names on the team sheet.
Sao Paulo
Couldn't agree more. He's got huge, huge potential. Incredible skill, flair and a really strong lad too. If he added a bit of aggression to his game and played with a mind to move the ball quicker he'd be fucking lethal with every touch.

The only reason his name cropped up was due to suggestions that our budget is used up, which - given the fact he fairly obviously would have been tabled the best deal we could offer him to stay, and combined with the development fee we'll receive (however small) - clearly isn't the case. Especially with Howie signing a two-year deal today. As regards Howie, I'm pretty happy with that signing. From the little I've seen of him, he looks very comfortable on the ball and distributes it well, is pretty quick across the ground and has a good build too. Hopefully, with the right coaching, he'll become a more accomplished one-on-one defender and a dominant aerial figure. Certainly has time on his side anyway, and a fair whack of experience under his belt (albeit at a very mixed level). What a birthday present for him yesterday, to be signing for the Clyde!

His target for a return was always middle to late August and there's been no change to that, he's on schedule. "David should be back in doing some work with the group later this week as he continues his recovery. "They are both very fit lads but we won't rush them back; only when our medical team think it's the right time." Goodwillie was out helping the warm-up yesterday.
