Carabao Cup 2019-20

Really enjoyed that tonight and Liverpool deservedly into the last 16. Despite making 11 changes (called the team above :)enjoyed nearly 80% possession with 5 youngsters starting.

I believe young Curtis Jones who played on the left of a front 3 got man of the match but thought 16 yo Harvey Elliot was very impressive on the right and hit the bar twice. He looks a player, with great skill and vision.

Milner did well at left back scoring the first and making the 2nd.

Crowd 28,521 (6700 away) was a record attendance for the Dons. The top tier now has seats too from when I went before and it really is an impressive stadium. Not the best set up outside the ground though and they seemed to be having trouble with the layout of the turnstiles making it difficult to search everyone before they went in.

Arsenal at home the last midweek in October expect pretty the same side to play and a stick on to be on the telly again. Can hopefully use home advantage to reach the last 8 :)

Liverpool have been fined £200,000 - half of which has been suspended - by the EFL for fielding an ineligible player in their third-round Carabao Cup win against MK Dons last week.

Spaniard Pedro Chirivella, 22, who came on as a substitute in the 2-0 victory, did not have international clearance.

The EFL said it "wasn't appropriate" to expel Liverpool from the competition because of "mitigating factors".

Liverpool host Arsenal in the fourth round on 29 October.

The EFL said £100,000 of the fine will be suspended until the end of next season.

Liverpool said they "accept the judgement, outcome and punishment", which they described as "proportionate with the technical indiscretion committed".

Surprised no one posted this last night. Seems fair enough.

Hopefully we will find out dates for the Arsenal game today.

  • 4 weeks later...

Liverpool's desperation to get knocked out continues with their team selection tonight.

Kellegher

Neco Williams Van der Berg Gomez Milner

Ox Lallana Keita

Elliot Origi Brewster

No idea what a Neco Williams is to be honest.

Even though Arsenal have also rotated a fair bit, they still have pretty good players plus Skodran Mustafi in their XI so they should probably win this

Imagine the meltdowns on Arsenal fan TV if they lose though
