That was dismissed as "ach, only a bit of exuberance by the media and Hibs received a very light punishment for their supporters misbehaviour that day, result of that means that other sets of supporters look at that and think "well if it was good enough for them, it's good enough for us". We obviously had our own pitch invasion on a smaller scale a year prior to that after the playoff and received a suspended sentence, but football supporters really should stay off the park and celebrate IN the stands, like what they managed to do for years and years. I get that last minute winners are exciting and all but Rangers didn't look much better than last season, tbqhwy. Needed a scrappy corner and a defensive mishap at the second to win, but otherwise didn't seem to cut us apart from open play. There were encouraging signs there from the team and hopefully we can get a result against Hamilton. EDIT: Just to add but Kiltie surely deserves a start now. Really made the difference when he came on. That's a fair post and you were nothing near as bad as feared. The difference with last season? We wouldn't have won - as shown by our league results against you.

Strangely, they referred to the pitch invasion on sky as "jubilant scenes" as opposed to words such as "disgraceful", "shocking", "out of order" etc which I've noticed them using in the past when other clubs are involved...........

Ira Gaines
Pitch invasions are great fun tbh. Focus needs to go away from them instantly.

You know, since fans so often climb onto structures above people when celebrating goals. Don't forget about nets to prevent jet powered skate boarders getting onto the pitch RG - expensive are those skate boards though.... Hibs fans did what they did in 2016 and it was dismissed as exuberance and everyone lapped it up because it was against Rangers. They received merely a slap on the wrist for it from the authorities and it was and is seen as one big laugh. Except when Rangers fans do it, and to a much lesser extent, Celtics fans as well, this board and social media as a whole absolutely errupts with outrage and there's calls for hefty sanctions, stadium bans, stand closures, strict liability and such like. Well, you can't have your cake and eat it, so if you are laughing and celebrating about Hibs fans invading the Hampden pitch then you can't be up in arms when other fans do likewise, otherwise it just sounds like sour grapes because the reality is that you are annoyed because Rangers won.

In fact, those picked up by the Glasgow police - in their gestapo like operation which went on for a year after - were dealt with by the courts and their sentences varied from "f**k all" for kicking the shite out of fat orange radges who had no place on the pitch, to "custodial sentences" for things like property damage (ripping up the pitch etc), so its entirely untrue to suggest that our fans got away scot free.
