jagfox
Cuiky have sold a 1000 tickets and have received a further 500 for the match. Good chance they'll outnumber the home fans at this rate. Great effort and if we put in our usual level of home performance they'll have a decent chance of a cup shock* * not a shock Edited November 12, 2019 by jagfox99

Lambie's Pigeon Feed
Is this the biggest day in Penicuik's history? Incredible number of fans coming for a team I didnt know existed.

Incredible number of fans coming for a team I didnt know existed. Biggest in half-a-century arguably. They made a Junior Cup Final back in 1970... in those days that was a big deal and played at Hampden before 19,500... whilst during 1930s they visited Aberdeen (lost 1-0), St Mirren (lost replay 4-1after 2-2 home draw) and Hearts (lost 14-2) in Scottish Cup. They went junior in 1951, became homeless from 1986 and were inactive from 1991 to 2002 when revived. Turned senior in 2018. Their heyday was 1930s when as well as those Scottish Cup outings they won EOS League twice (100% record in 1937-38), and brief rival Edinburgh District League once. Their striker Andrew 'Fatty' Ramage - "something of a character" - scored 59 & 54 goals in 2 seasons but still found time to become Scottish billiard champion. Having been nicknamed "The Cuckoos" and "The Papermakers" their moniker is nowadays "The Rookie Cuikie". jagfox
Grim stuff. Into the next round I suppose so job done on that score but still a shitload of work to be done by the manager. Elgin and Annan our so I don’t really care who we get next.
Thistle_do_nicely
We were extremely fortunate to bag a goal very early before the game had really settled. Penicuik had a great chance to make it 1-1 in the first half but it got hit wide when only had Fox to beat. Had some decent opportunities with a header right on the stroke of halftime and Miller hitting the post, but we were awful in possession throughout. I still don't know where Harkins was meant to be playing. Thought it was a stonewaller late on for a foul on Kakay. Pretty rancid performance but scraped it - as above it's highlighted some glaring problems facing the manager with the players to hand... Nightmare
That was abysmal. Harkins is beyond finished. Looked like a fat, unfit fan who had won a competition. Shitebags all over the team as well. Williamson, Penrice, Palmer, Cole all terrified any time the ball landed at their feet. CBs blootering it out of play. Against this kind of opposition, that’s completely unacceptable. McCall has a bigger job on his hands than he probably thought he did. This team is a disgrace. Thistle_do_nicely
Should add that in terms of giving credit where it's due I thought the Penicuik no.11 was very good - kept looking for the ball (by contrast there was a moment where we had a throw in near the halfway line and literally nobody went to try to receive the ball off the taker, which sort of summed up the disgraceful lack of desire throughout), putting in sprints, generally pretty neat and tidy with the ball. Got subbed second half as he was blowing out his arse but one of the standouts. Penicuik RB also had a decent game. Kakay and Miller were good subs, not least as they contributed significantly more than Harkins had up to going off, but it's alarming that barring the first 5 minutes we were all over the shop. Scott Fox throwing the ball out (fairly poorly, too much height on it) to Ryan Williamson who then miscontrolled it, due in part as above to nobody really wanting the ball, was physically painful to watch. Very brief spells with Raith (on loan from Musselburgh) and East Fife in his younger days (Paul Tansey).
