Phil nailed it:

“If it has got four legs and it is not a chair, if it has got two wings and it flies but is not an aeroplane, and if it swims and it is not a submarine, the Cantonese will eat it.”

So they'll eat tables? Maybe Morrissey was right.

Stock markets around the globe are getting spooked, an indication that it could be serious.

"Speculators sense they can make a (metaphorical) killing" would probably be more accurate.

Just seen a screenshot of a post from a driver on an Uber drivers chat page who claimed to have just dropped off two passengers at the hospital in Perth (Australia) to get checked for the Coronavirus.

It's time...

The battle for third intensifies. Singapore get another point on the board, up to 5, but its anyones guess who can break away.

As Slippery P said, Cambodia get of the mark with a dramatic late entry last night and Vietnam finally for over their goal glut and move up a point.

Unsurprisingly Nepal could be isolated at the foot of the table if they are not careful.

Its ‘back to work day’ for most Asian countries, MTRs and buses full again after the long New Year holiday. So expect to see points hitting the boards from tomorrow.

News just in from the teleprinter. China notch another to 82, with 2863 and USA may have picked up another point. Possibly the ringers starting to perform as they chase Thailand for second.

As Granny Danger pointed out, the markets are starting to see the severity and political issues in this scenario and the possible lack of truth coming out of China.

With the extended holiday in China to 2nd February will mean delays to all your shit from iphones to toilet rolls (and face masks) and the loss of production and freighting will have a big impact on the global economy.

Really taking off as a global event, the minnows of Sri Lanka strike early this morning. Could this mean another potential ‘big hitter’ in India opening their account soon? Unofficial reports coming through that Pakistan have struck 5. Trying to get one of our roaming reports over to the stadium to confirm. India and Pakistan would be perceived as realistic challengers if they enter the competition, but are they maybe joining too late?

Sri Lanka joining in is big news.

If there's one country that does incompetence and corruption on a world-class scale, yet slips under the radar, it's dear old Ceylon.

Give it a week and they'll have 200 cases and the government will be blaming it on muslims trying to eradicate the Sinhalese population.

Fun times ahead.

Apparently anyone in HK who has flu like symptoms are being taken away and put into quarantine which is an unused multistory building.

No wonder people aren’t stepping up and admitting to having the flu.

Would have to be some size of a multi-storey building!

Quarantining anyone with flu would be a hell of a resource issue. We are slap bang in the middle of flu season for most of Asia right now.

Like Singapore they are probably quarantining people with fever and other symptoms only.

They have designated areas which they used before, two old holiday camps and part of a military base. They will use them unless the protestors fire bomb them first.

Two new cases in Singapore, we are after you Slippery P.
Entry or transit now blocked to nationals with Hubei issued passports or have been there recently. 2000 Hubei residents here to go to quarantine if deemed necessary and “Quarantine orders have legal force”.

Next will be shoot to kill policies :-)

Swiss colleagues are ready to petition the army to detonate all the mines they planted along the German border in order to keep it out.

Don't let Ian Paisley go back there on holiday. Or maybe do let Ian Paisley go back on holidays, just don't let him return.

Having not played in the Colombo High Commission Fives for a good six years, I doubt my influence extends that far these days.

The old High Commissioner was a good Accies fan, to be fair.
