DiegoDiego
I've made it back to Italy. Two trains and then a walk across the border. Had a bit of a scare when the chap at the kebab shop told me the station in Gorizia had been closed yesterday, but it seems to be functioning normally.
Hedgecutter
You know, this coronavirus might just be the catalyst that's been required for the invention of the Three Sea Shells.

Thanks a lot you sh*t-brained, f***-faced, ball-breaking, duck-f***ing pain in the ass. Eta: deserves the video IMO What's disconcerting is that Demolition Man, released 27 years ago in 1993, is set only 12 years from now (2032). Seems that they're predicting the future fairly accurately: Quote We're not used to physical-contact greetings. Look, I don't know if you guys know it but you're... out of toilet paper. Said they were very much on top of it in Aus and had tracked and notified every close contact encounter in Sydney so far. I find this whole "have you been in contact with someone who has travelled abroad?" thing a bit silly. How the f**k is anyone supposed to know the background of everyone they come into contact with? You could be in restaurant and the waiter's just came back from a weekend in Italy and kept quiet about it because he'll miss out on two weeks of shifts. Your doctors asks you if you've been contact with anyone from these areas and you answer honestly "no". Just seems like poor advice.

They haven't got the kits or manpower to test everyone so they're just trying to narrow it down to the most likely.

That's fine but we shouldn't be telling people to carry on with their lives if they're showing symptoms and we're just guessing that they haven't come into contact with anyone. If you have symptoms, isolate. I'm not sure why there needs to be an exception to that rule.

The WHO were first notified of the Chinese outbreak at the end of December and there's evidence to suggest that it was actually November when the outbreak first started, as such, people were moving around freely for weeks / months before anyone was really interested. Strangely enough, we had quite a few off with serious flu cases just prior to Christmas and also into the first weeks of January, one of our staff was actually hospitalised as it developed into acute pneumonia which really makes you wonder if this has been here for the past few months ??

In fairness, the markets have been long overdue a correction and the Oil price drop is a result of Russia refusing to cut production and Saudi Arabia slashing their oil price in an attempt to screw Russia. Having said that I'd be keeping away from stockmarket "bargains" for a few weeks yet as I'd expect the markets situation to get much worse before it gets any better.

Aye I know someone who was hospitalised with pneumonia after having flu-like symptoms before Christmas. Could be a coincidence, but also the world wasn't exactly looking for this virus so wouldn't have been picked up?

I'd have thought someone who was actually hospitalised would be tested to determine treatment, even if the answer was "unknown virus". Maybe not.

Pure guesswork on my part, I'm not a doctor.

Guesswork here too.
