These reporters are doing my nut in.  The CMO situation has been discussed, Sturgeon has nailed her colours to the mast, and yet they continue to ask the same question over and over.

It's almost like it's a big deal.

It is one of the biggest clangers I can remember, was not impressed with Sturgeon in the slightest.

Because it was a cop out.  Shes not just flouted the rules once.  Others getting fined for sitting in their cars and she gets a wee chat?  f**k off  double standards that show our politicians are just the same as Westminster.  If the cmo is still in her job tomorrow, it's a disgrace.   Pathetic

One of her worst performances. Didn't answer a single question.

She should have just left calderwood off the team for the day. There's plenty of other more important issues, like the possible cases in the care home.

Lost a fair bit of respect for Nicola Sturgeon over this.

Well she’s went up in my estimation over this. The CMO has fucked up and quite rightly apologised, that’s good enough for me. If she’s as good as what the FM is saying she is, then she should stay. The need to constantly crucify people for mistakes has never sat well with me

Equally as bad is the pontificating shite from Scotnats defending the indefensible for purely partisan reasons. It was dully predictable that both sides would take the positions they have.
There's no way in which this isn't gross misconduct, a breach of the Civil Service Code and a fatal undermining of her own credibility.

Don't get me wrong - I do believe she should be disciplined under the Civil Service Code - but that is a decision I believe for the Civil Service Commission not the First Minister.

I just don't agree with the snidey innuendo from certain elements - the ones who "hate that woman" but can't actually tell you why.

Utter vermin every one of them.

But did the reporters think that asking effectively the same question over and over would elicit a different response from her on the 6th repetition?

There must be other questions some of the could be asking.  There was one about protection in care homes but that was it.

It was bound to happen,  with the growing anger over this her only course of action is to resign as she's became the story now.

I'm.the same.  She handled that really badly.   If the cmo is still in the job tomorrow, it's a disgrace.  13 people dead in the one care home and she is the story.   It was the worst press conference Sturgeon has done

My view is that Calderwood should have tendered her resignation and Sturgeon should have accepted it. However, none of us experts here on a fans football forum are 24/7 in the cockpit of trying to control a pandemic and the FM has presumably had to make a very serious judgement here, I mean it's hardly a plumber fucking off in the middle of a bathroom refurb is it ?

That should not be interpreted as partisan support for Sturgeon or the Scottish Government, but on the other hand it would not matter a damn to elements of the media what was decided - haters are gonna hate irrespective.

It wouldn't have happened if she wasnt there. What else did they think the press were going to focus on.  Blame those who allowed her to be there.  That's the big error here.

Gordon if you're going to highlight the serious nature of this one in a lifetime pandemic then surely you want the very top people involved in the key decisions?

She's made a horrible error. But if she's the best in her field then why should there be a clamour for her to resign?

This is too serious to punt experts based on PR gaffes.

She’s a gynaecologist so not really sure how close the link is to that role. All surgeons are highly qualified and capable people,  however the area she specialises in is one of the more general ones. Pretty sure we have a world renowned Scottish scientific expert however he might not share the same political views as Sturgeon

The SG statement is a pile of lies. Who's lies though?

Only in your tiny little mind.

The Scottish Government put out a statement earlier saying she went there once to secure it.

Clearly not true.

Sturgeon MUST immediately take the CMO out the daily briefing as it will just become a useless circus show if she doesn't. The media smell blood and it's going to completely overshadow the real life and death issues. Once may interpreted as a mistake, twice is taking the absolute piss.

I don't think its haters for the sake of it.  She could still work in the background but get another figurehead.   She floats the rules twice and its others at fault here?  Nothing against Sturgeon, but she got that well wrong at a really bad time for folk

Why not get Jason leach?  If she isn't an expert in this, surely she can be replaced as the figurehead after this with someone who'll stick to the rules.
