Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

I'm going off Jason Leitch, he may sound like a sound bloke but he comes out with so many mixed messages from the PPE argument to the herd immunity path and social distancing as I'm sure he was promoting going to visit yer maw at mothers day etc..

Another mintering Leitch said "we dont think thats true"

It was meant to be cleared up in a phone call with Hancock but he has just cried off 😉

But lets not forget it was an owner of a care home in Wales that first brought this up on Saturday

Sweden have never hidden this fact, there attitude is, we're better just getting it all out of the way in one shot rather than closing and opening country up repeatedly, hopefully their approach is proven to be correct.

Sweden's rate of deaths per 100k is worse than the US. Swedish doctors not happy.

Big rise in non Covid deaths. Are these cases where Covid could be present but this isn’t known or is it caused by medical services being squeezed due to the lockdown.

Likely a judgement call for the doctor when there are other underlying conditions. Say if a patient dies from heart disease while carrying the virus, which may have speeded up death.

A wee bit of home-made analysis I did last night. Covid-19 figures for Scotland up to 13/4/20. Graphs show rolling 7-day averages to account for potential lower reporting at weekends, etc. Possibly close to a peak (or maybe a plateau)?

(Raw data from Scottish Government figures and Travelling Tabby Scotland Coronavirus Tracker blog.)

This was him saying visit the elderly yet it's been proved folk can be asymptomatic hence why mass testing  seems to be the best option. (Germany, South Korea)

Wait, there are actually guys out there who don't like skinny lassies with big arses ?

Apparently some people are into skinny laddies with big arses which is fine, we're a tolerant and forward-thinking community.

I don’t really care if he’s self promoting he is still holding the government to account when most others in the MSM aren’t.  He is doing a good job throughout this pandemic.

Don't be fooled by this type of questioning.

The best questions are pinpoint details that are relevant to a bigger picture. It forces the government to be on top of the important details.

Politicians should be actively encouraged to answer more honestly, and not ripped apart from c***s like Morgan for not knowing certain things at that certain moment.

As long as there's a follow up the next day to sort out the actual answer.
On to the next rumour for the perma-raging Nats then?
I don't think I've ever known a poster on here to be so singularly obsessed by one topic. Scottish independence genuinely has you frothing at the mouth.

Can you only half-read what I wrote? Or are you determined to put words in my mouth?

No, I don't agree with ScotGov and Leitch on this and haven't done. That said (take note of this part), I can understand their reasoning.

The UK approach has been a shambles from day one - I take that as when we knew this had hit Europe. We had two months headstart and did SFA. Boris shaking hands in a hosptial with Covid patients.

Is that straight enough for you?

What was your beef with Neil Findlay advocating the Scottish government taking a different approach? I don't think being opposed to independence means you are barred from saying that. Forgive me if I've misunderstood you.

We are all understandably trying to read something into the figures whilst not knowing how accurate they are.  I suspect there are far more COVID-19 related deaths than are being reported.

There will be, but the official figures should allow us to compare the extent of things between days. My guess is that taking accounting for community cases would inflate the daily figures rather than push the peak back, but of course we really don’t know if that’s the case for sure.
