A plumber/joiner can’t work from home unless you can tell me otherwise? Wear a mask, client keeps their distance (not yakking in the room where you are fitting the radiator) wash hands on way in and out and ventilate the space while you’re there. The zero risk option is don’t go but zero wages can also be quite harmful to health. We’ve had clear and specific instructions that in Tier 4 we can’t send tradespeople into customers’ houses for non-emergency work. ETA self-employed tradespeople can claim grant support, it’s reasonably generous though takes a while to receive. Billy Jean King
The Sky news go to SAGE boffin said last night that IF their modelling is correct he would expect the R number to reduce by at least 0.2 by the end of next week and 0.4 by ten days later with schools by then having been closed for between 3-4 weeks. SG should publish latest R on Thursday so be interesting to see the fall over the following 2 weeks. Another good test of the "science"

HeartsOfficialMoaner
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-55540701 It's these people that I worry for after reading the horror stories from Italy in March with health workers taking their own lives and stuff like that. Them having to go through all of this again.

Test and Trace has already cost £22b and has been such a roaring success... No doubt people who had been vaccinated would go get a test if they caught a cold a few months down the line as well

I am getting an extension built and anticipating the tradesmen turning up any minute now (for clarity - in Scotland and thought they could work under Level 4 rules) Started work in October 19 and still a couple months work to do.....it's never ending.

No these are the rules in Scotland. Totally unequivocal. I have no doubt many will ignore them and/or plead ignorance. If they are working wholly outside your existing house and do not require access into it for any reason it might be different (emphasis is mine).

With testing we can reduce that considerably.Like whats happening in schools and has been proven in china. You say waste of money but if we had a decent test and track trace system then we wouldn't be in lockdown.

Once we have vaccinated the most vulnerable, who cares? Are people forgetting this isn't the first virus? Covid-19 isn't that deadly. The risk comes from being in the "at risk" category. These people will be vaccinated and we'll be left with another endemic coronavirus that those who catch it will call "the cold" 7 minutes ago, D.A.F.C said: You say waste of money but if we had a decent test and track trace system then we wouldn't be in lockdown.
