What you're referring to - pupils changing course in August when their exam results come in - happens every year. We don't start the course again for their benefit. They need to catch up. Removing a couple of topics can help, but ultimately until the SQA come out and say that's what they're going to do, we can't assume that's what will happen. At present we are assuming the exam diet will start in late April 2022 based on full course content, and so our planning has to be on that assumption. Clearly, that's the prevalent thinking in your area and you've embraced it. it's nuts though. We don't have exams in May and the SQA need nothing until 25th June. To finish in the way we normally do, because we normally do, is genuinely bonkers.

The groundless assertion that vaccines are not going to be taken up by the vast majority of the population without carrots and sticks underlines who the true misanthropes are in this pandemic. Both the UK and Scottish government are stuffed with these paternalistic, knicker-wetting freak shows. The vast majority isn't enough. They probably need over 90% to make the ID plan workable.

That assumption isn't decisive, however, in that course units etc can be amended en route to the exams. They should absolutely dilute next year's courses by the tiny amount required to accommodate a loss of three weeks or so. Seriously, can you not see why that's preferable to making even worse the butchery that this year's courses have endured? Billy Jean King
She was discussing how vaccine passports are going to be inevitable and then she said youngsters need an “incentive” to get the vaccine. Later on she went on to say “You can really create an incentive to people to say if you want to go to a concert, if you want to be active in places where spreading occurs then you have to protect and make sure you’re not spreading it to others” Disgusts me in all honesty That's exactly how Israel are "encouraging" younger cohorts to get vaccinated.

Seriously, can you not see why that's preferable to making even worse the butchery that this year's courses have endured? I absolutely agree that would be preferable. Hell, I've been advocating for several years for a move away from the traditional, archaic model of exams. But surely you can see that we can't dilute the course until the SQA have told us we can? Given their track record on decisions, I wouldn't hold my breath.

I disagree that all the public Comms especially in Scotland has been through coercion. There of course has been some but disagree it was led by that infact I would say once the public messages were, I assume deemed, ineffective then fines were introduced.

Sridhar and her ilk have a fringe, bias, and warped worldview, and it should not be imposed on western democratic societies. At least when we're back to normal we won't have to hear from her anymore.

Given their track record on decisions, I wouldn't hold my breath. I'm in favour of exams. I think that with safety mechanisms, they have more integrity and are less inclined to exacerbate gaps than alternatives. That's a separate argument though. I genuinely find it astonishing that anyone at school or authority level thinks it's sensible to cram what must happen into April and May, when most of June should also be available. I also think you're exaggerating the significance of June when it falls at the start of a traditional course.
