It's already been proved that the system can jag enough people to meet that. the limiting factor over the last few weeks has been the anticipated supply slow down. That's supposed to be sorted next week. Scotland will apparently be sitting with 900,000 doses ready to go.

Bairnardo
of which many will need to be second jabsThe crossover wont be that big. If they can get up to millions per week in March by the time appreciable numbers are due their second, the numbers needing their first will have been battered down
Left Back
14 minutes ago, realmadrid said: of which many will need to be second jabs Not many at all. we need to vaccinate around 4.5m people in Scotland 1.8m have had their first jag so 2.7m to go. about 75 days till the end of May means we need to jag 36,000 per day. If England are doing 4m per week we should be doing around 57,000 per day. that will leave 21,000 doses for second jags. 21,000 x 75 is 1,575,000. 130,000 have already had their second jag so that would be 1.7m. We'd therefore be 100,000 short of the 1.7m that need a second jag between now and then. Thats about 2 days worth of jagging. If it took until June 2nd to get everyone their first dose I could live with that. ETA. Schoolboy error in the above. just because 1.7m currently need the second jag they don't all need it by the end of May. some won't need it until the first two weeks in June so we wouldn't be short 100,000 for second jags. Everything after that is all 2nd jags which, as has been pointed out, add longetivity rather than much extra protection.

We really do need to change our whole mindset in this country and try and improve.
