That’s surely irrelevant, though? The point is that he thinks cases are as important now as they were a year ago.

I mean obviously that’s good, but if they are genuinely in the mindset of cases rising = more restrictions then that’s really worrying. I’ll hold back any seethe until next Tuesday though. No point in getting annoyed at the minute by little soundbites.

No - he speculated it may be a blip. Which of course it may. But he definetly said "we may need to re-think things"
MP_MFC
And also caveated it with they don't know how it will translate into hospitalisation and deaths because of the vaccine, if they don't follow the usual pattern (think he said for 200 cases it would be approx 70 hosp and 7 deaths) then it would likely be a good sign to keep going. It does back up the point that when you open, cases go up, a few weeks after our schools went back limitedly the cases have gone up. Imagine what may follow down south considering they chucked everyone in at once.
Thereisalight..
I’ve read a few articles regarding the Rangers v Leverkusen game being the last sports event in Scotland held with fans. The Sunday of that week (15th) I went to the Emirates in Glasgow for the basketball final, nobody mentions that one -

I can just about understand concern over new cases until early May but beyond that no.

Billy Jean King
Sarwar "testing and a robust isolation policy will be vital going forward if we want to return to any sort of reality" If we keep isolation even after vaccination there will never be any sort of "normality"

A year ago we were told lockdown/restrictions were so the NHS wasn’t “overwhelmed”. All that should matter now is death rates and ICU numbers. Not if a dozen clatty schoolkids and their maws have a wee cough
superbigal
Case numbers may well need to be binned. However there is no doubt ours are rising now while the other nations are still falling. Even Norden Oirlan has now overtaken us. Edited March 12, 2021 by superbigal
