The organisation with the public health specialists is the Scottish Government, not the fucking Shetland Council. Surely they ran public consultation rather than the council just deciding what people want
invergowrie arab
6 dark months in this stupid fucking city. Never thought I would be so happy to legally visit Arbroath
Billy Jean King
I think I perhaps misheard, did she say indoor hospitality ie indoor pub would be 26 April? Yes but without alcohol indoors for 3 weeks, only boozing outside from that date.
Scosha
Great news, legally you can what you’ve been doing for weeks now. Still no gyms, contact sport etc allowed

Michael W
Johnson channelling his inner Macron by indulgent in a spot of vaccine rubbishing. What, then, is the point in getting vaccinated if they haven't reduced the cases/hospitalisations/death? I have little time for Johnson, but even if he's indulging in a spot of arse covering here to justify his decisions, how many times do we need to see stupid statements during this pandemic have real world consequences? Even more so where vaccines are concerned. There seems be a very weird lack of trust/faith in the vaccines from politicians. Other than standard "wE JuSt dOn'T KnOw!!!" drivel that we are all sick to the back teeth of, I'd be interested to see why they keep playing down the impact of vaccines. I suppose we'll just ignore that much more remained open duing the most recent lockdown with the More Transmissible and Deadly Scary Kent Variant than did in the first lockdown and ignore that the rates still went down despite panic that even closing schools might not keep the R number below 1. Billy Jean King
Surely they ran public consultation rather than the council just deciding what people want [emoji38]That was the impression she gave, islanders seem split on allowing "outsiders" back in. Presumably depends on the nature of their business.
101
Hopefully this turns out to be no higher than the baseline risk of blood clots as the J&J Vax would absolutely blast the U50s
Lyle Lanley
Great news the travel ban is lifted earlier than expected. Don’t see why they can’t open shops and hospitality at the same time.
deegee
It was as optimistic and as upbeat as Nicola can be, however in reality who wants to go for a drive with the family/ other half to end up somewhere that is closed apart from having a takeaway coffee. I suppose it legitimises folk who might have been travelling to see family and friends but it’s no real change tbh.

Surely it's a bit much to give 3 days notice for opening from a 4 month shut down stuff like fresh produce wouldn't be in yet and staff may still be on furlough or away from the town of employment etc.

Wait to see the roads this weekend with folk "out for a run" in their cars. Coast here will be mobbed and cafes, chippies etc will be delighted to see them.

RiG
About time the outdoor and travel restrictions were lifted. The threat posed by a couple of folk bouncing up Ben Inthemiddleoffuckingnowhere is non existent. Edited April 13, 2021 by RiG
