I suspect the walk in clinics are contributing to the no shows. Two folk from work willing to go to a walk up and queue despite having appointments for their second dose. They want it now and not in two weeks in case more places get made "green" ahead of their annual leave at the start of July in the hope 3 weeks plus beyond their 2nd dose will allow them to enter somewhere on holiday without testing. I said last week that I suspected they would be turned away but they were both on the work group chat yesterday saying they got it no problem and basically urging anyone else hoping to get away in the next 4 weeks or so to do the same. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

And i absolutely agree with them, we need to be extending the hours of these clinics and get fucking battered through the remaining doses, let folks go after work or when the weans are at school, get the vaccine buses out to big employers etc and get it rattled out. Going on holidays etc without testing should be a massive encouragement for people so more power to those boys for realising that. Because it has the dual benefit that it’ll reduce case numbers quicker too, so its a win for them and a win for the government. You know what would be brilliant, do the vaccines at the euro 2021 fan zone too. Get them battered out. We'll call it the 19-June variant whilst we work out if using the area of discovery will upset anyone. This will probably lead to no further relaxations or the threat of vaccine passports for the ten thousandth time. Well, at least they are recognising the archaic blue envelope isn't efficient for younger groups but that shouldn't have come as a shock. Get drop-in centres open into the late evenings for those at work. I had to reschedule my appointment and couldn't find anything online. The "safer shores" barriers have been erected at Troon and Ayr stations but that's 100% normal even before Covid. They basically check bags for drink (targeted to the young team) heading to the beaches.
