JL on STV news saying he will get his parents to do lateral flow tests before they arrive at his house for Christmas Day.

He'll need to remember to do one before Church as well.

Even the great dentist was making a valid point on the wireless  not long ago.

The distinct possibility this variant will be exactly what they want.

More infectious but less dangerous and still have vaccine protection

In which case it should be encouraged to spread and defeat the delta.

I think even Javid now believes all the newer restrictions in England may last just a few weeks till we start cheering on the NoCrim(b)o  variant.

Why? What is it going to achieve?

If it does turn out to be seriously nasty, it would flatten the curve, give time to develop a modified booster, help the NHS and save lives. Have you not being paying attention? Anyway, I'm hopeful it will turn out to be massively infectious and harmless and it will all be over by Christmas. :)

How would banning travel from southern Africa and requiring PCR tests for international travellers 'flatten the curve' of a virus that is in fucking Lanarkshire?

He's a right wing, christian nutcase with a history of homophobic remarks. While not an outright anti-vaxer, he's on record as appearing with anti- vaccine groups.

He's also on record as stating...incorrectly....that the government were using false statistics to justify restrictions. He was asked to apologise for spreading misinformation by Priti Patel of all people, so that tells you all you need to know about this weed of a man.

No surprise at all though that he's a hero of yours.

In your little narrow world, there seems to be no room for any dissentient voices.

I would imagine you probably loathe all the Alba people because they actually want independence, believe in science based gender and

don’t conform to the cult of Sturgeon.

Well, I welcome a variety of views and people like Swayne, the 2 Corbyns, JRM et al add to the rich tapestry and diversity of life.

I think they already know they may have massively over-reacted, hence the laying of the groundwork for walking the restrictions back.

Contrast that to NS earlier threatening to go even further and getting the begging bowl out to fund curbing socialising and hammering businesses again.

Just like with introducing vaccine passports, she's flown in with both feet in a "look at how much more I care" lunge.

Hopelessly reactionary, with absolutely no idea where she wants Scotland to be RE: Covid to get back to normal let alone how to get there.

Let's be honest here. You only post on this thread because of your absolute hatred of Nicola Sturgeon and the SNP.

You see fellow kindred spirits in the handful of puce-faced, ranting moonhowlers who scream 'NicOLiAr !!' on here 500 times a day.

At least try and be honest for once.

This is a continual loop so I'll leave you with an answer I made earlier.

If it's already widespread in Scotland there's obviously no point, if there are only a few cases, there might be.

You are correct in that, as a unionist, I dislike (not hate) NS and the SNP but this Covid business transcends party politics.

In fact, most of the posters on here are independence supporters who have fallen out of love with the SNP. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Likewise I’m disillusioned with the Conservative government who have managed to forget conservative principles and fallen in with the anti democratic, left wing academic establishment. I think Boris’s heart is in the right place on this but he has given in to the perceived ‘caring’ policies  of the health lobby.

The left have tied themselves in knots over COVID on a daily basis.

Actually needing to remind self proclaimed lefties that people’s jobs, livelihoods, mental health etc matter too is a red neck.

A lot of the people who make up ‘the left’ nowadays are entirely different from the past in the 70’s and 80’s, now its the academics and ever offended who are most vocal. Fwiw I believe Jeremy Corbyn  would have been a good PM and was one of the very few in politics who actually sought to make a difference.

The loop is being caused by you failing to demonstrate what purpose a travel ban or PCR tests for incomers will achieve. Despite you throwing every single government soundbite at the wall, you're still no closer to explaining how this 'precaution' will have any impact whatsoever.

The problem with the vast majority of people is that they simply parrot what their favourite politician says without appearing to give any consideration as to whether they are actually logical.

So long as pubs etc are open, travel bans / PCR tests / Quarantine will do absolutely nothing to slow the spread of anything already here.

Welshy knows this, but he is blinded by a deep rooted inability to criticise NS.

Hiya Boab, hiya pal!

£5 says you can’t find five ‘Nicoliars’ on here from today, let alone 500. Check yesterday too, see if you can find five there?

I’ll also offer a wager the Conference closing party must be offering some special brews?

What timeframe do you imagine a modified vaccine could be invented, tested, produced in meaningful numbers, distributed and got into arms?  Even the manufacturers are talking weeks to do step 1 which is tweaking the vaccine.

You’ll then have the manufacturers asking the world and it’s chancellors to queue up and start a bidding war for first dibs.  It will be a shitshow if a new vaccine is necessary because it’s seriously nasty.

I despair at how gullible some people are.
