Zetterlund
I took my car for its MOT the other day and they stuck an £8 'Covid cleaning fee' on it. My initial seethe was tempered just enough by the nice clean car smell and shiny dash, so I didn't bother complaining, just shook my head in disbelief that this is still a thing.

My sister came to and from the UK from her home in Nelson in 2020, 2021 and 2022 with no great trouble apart from quarantining when she got back. I'm pretty sure they didn't have a single lockdown or mask mandate in the South Island the whole time. I think you're confusing NZ with Australia. both islands...both former colonies...both far away...both cut adrift when we joined the EEC...easy mistake to make, imho.
ICTChris
I wonder what that Telegraph cartoonist who got sacked during Covid is up to? I’m sure the time to reflect has probably made him more nuanced and accepting of other views…. Ah.

Back to the "from Covid" vs "with Covid" debate. The 1 in 300 number is a nonsense. Higher than NZ no doubt, but the number is dodgy.

See what number you get.

This was a big question in 2021, when a large proportion of people who died with Covid (but not because of it) were counted as Covid deaths. To give an example. A person tests positive for Covid. If he dies in a car accident in the following 28 days, he counts as a Covid death. Or to put it another way. If everyone got infected on the same day, then every death for the following 28 days is classed as a Covid death. At least, this was the case when this was running riot.
ICTChris
It's been mentioned on the Twitter thread but there seems to be an uptick of antivax stuff on Twitter and other social media. This video went viral, in which an American woman claims to have developed tremors after taking the vaccine. Really bizarre and clearly, obviously, 100% made up bullshit. YOu have to wonder if it's just 100% cynical 'own-the-libs' stuff or if the person is psychiatrically ill - munchausen syndrome or the like. Noted divorcee Laurence Fox and pop sensations Right Said Fred have also been posting about public defibrilators, as though this shows that widespread vaccination has caused an epidemic of heart attacks, despite these being in place for years pre-Covid. I think I linked to the Chris Snowdon blog about this - it's really odd as most normal people have completely moved on. The UK Is around 90% vaccinated for over 12s yet the mad brigade of losers and weirdos seems to just trudge on with their obsessiveness.
Michael W
Weirdly enough, I went on twitter to find 'Invermectin' trending. A certain MP that recently lost the Tory whip was amongst the front and centre of it all, continuing his long-running mental disintegration.
