Waste of time!

Don’t think a parliamentary enquiry will be tolerated IMO and they will have to change this quickly so as not to look like they have anything to hide.

remeber this forum lovejoyed the f**k out of pozbaird last year for the pishiest of lockdown breaches. we forget about that. i didn't (then or now) give a toss as i personaly broke plenty rules from april last year up untill now but just didnt announce it to anyone

Last year we were in a position where we were under onslaught from a previously-unknown virus, we were seeing pictures on the TV of mass graves around the world, the military driving around cities ordering folk to stay in home and wall-to-wall TV coverage of ICU wards with folk tubed up dying as doctors and nurses were getting overwhelmed.

We're in a much better position now, but it's easy to forget how terrifying last year was for some folk. We were being told to stay in the hoose as much as possible and you had yon Pozbaird waltzing up and down shopping aisles with his wife arguing over biscuits and Old Man Danger driving his wife to do the shopping as seemingly the thought of him doing the shopping himself was an alien concept.

Success story Australia now a 'stunning failure' over vaccine rollout

Video content

Video caption: Covid: 'Australia vaccine rollout is stunning failure'Covid: 'Australia vaccine rollout is stunning failure'

Australia is currently seeing a spike in cases in multiple parts of the country - the first time this has happened in months.

Throughout the pandemic, the country has managed to keep case numbers low with strict border closures and lockdowns.

But Prof Tim Soutphommasane from Sydney University says Australia is lagging way behind other developed countries with the rollout of the coronavirus vaccine - and that it will be looked back on as a "stunning failure".

"Australia has been winning the war but it is at serious risk of losing the peace because other countries around the world are rapidly opening up with very well vaccinated populations, leaving Australia behind," he says.

I agree.

The Tories have blocked the Devolved Nations* holding a judge led public enquiry, even if it's not the case it looks like the findings of an enquiry would put serious doubt on "union of equals" "4 nations consensus" and whatever tropes the Tories want to roll out and to save their face the Scottish public will be denied a proper warts and all assesment of our planning and response.

*According to the SNP, not seen any media traction on that, but I've not been following it all that closely.

Inquiries are always a complete waste of everyone's time. When was the last time an inquiry actually changed anything for the better?

Iraq, oh wait

Halcyon days. 1,000 people dying per day in the UK as a result of covid, schools closed and Old Man Danger saying anyone who didn't drive their wife down go pick up the paper had never had any ass in their lives.

You'd think the devolved nations would be careful about what they wish for considering they were in lockstep with the UK Government at the get go.

Shit game aside, watching the crowd at Wembley in a global pandemic and tomorrow it will be ah but, ye cannay...........!  Aye right!

Now we either have a problem or we don't and with the success of the vaccines, we don't, so ffs just let people have their weddings, funerals, family gatherings etc without restrictions, because watching that crowd inside Wembley is only making a mockery of government policicy and they just appear to be punishing those who have been punished enough.

Money to be made in this tourney of of course. No fucking wonder people get upset at the hypocrisy of this whole shit show.

The US really are starting to get on with it. Land of the free, indeed.

United bets on travel boom with big plane order

The US airline United has confirmed it has placed its biggest aircraft order to date for 270 Boeing and Airbus planes worth more than $30bn (£21.6bn).

It's a move that shows the airline is confident people will return to air travel once the pandemic is over.

The order means the airline will replace its older, smaller jets between 2022 and 2026.

The bigger planes will carry more passengers on domestic routes and enable the airline to sell more premium seats in first class or with extra legroom.

United Airlines' boss Scott Kirby says the purchases will "accelerate our business to meet a resurgence in air travel".

Passengers who have been in the UK, Ireland, Brazil, China and Iran in the past 14 days still cannot enter the US unless a specific exemption applies, as a presidential decree introduced last March is still in place.

The red tops really pushing the Oxford AZ vaccine, with the government scientist rhetoric of how wonderful it is, without mentioning the blood clot problem.

They state 3 jabs of it are better than two and works better against all variants, but best of all, is that you can mix it with the Pfizer vax and get a better response than AZ alone, but eluding to state that 2 jabs of Pfizer are still  better and with less risk.

The AZ deal had been trashed and quite justifiably imo. People just don't have the confidence in it and no fucking wonder.

However it was government sponsored and Oxford AZ have to turn a buck, so let's put every c**t at risk and takes yer chances.

Government are c***s and give not one f**k for public health, so they can take their AZ and ram it. No doubt it has helped many, but just too many risks with it. Think if it were one of your own who succumbed to it ffs.

Better it was binned for all concerned.

Statically there isn’t a problem.   if it wasn’t for sensationalist ‘news’ articles we’d have barely noticed.

That and the  rest of your post can comfortably chucked in the bin of conspiracy nonsense.

What does statistically mean?

I'm sure that when we used to have discussions about vaccine safety hundreds of people dying wasn't part of the argument that there was nothing to worry about.

You can have this too “your post can comfortably chucked in the bin of conspiracy nonsense.”

What an atrocious contribution.

How many more people would have or will die in future without this vaccine?  By far the cheapest and most easily distributed of all the major vaccines hence why it’s the most ordered/administered.

Without it the UK as a whole would still be deep in the shit along with a load of other countries.
