They were still having meetings in Westminster today about it, that's why the usual Wednesday or Thursday announcement was delayed. No doubt they knew the train of thought, but not the outcome. -
DeeTillEhDeh
Mewling about their earnest desire to maintain a four nations approach while choosing to diverge from the rest of the UK because 'reckless Tooooarieees!' is a full-blown minter for the SG. It's absolutely embarrassing - I understand the Scottish Government might want to do things differently but when it comes to international travel you just can't do what they are doing.

The testing of international travellers, both before and after travel, is an important part of our border health surveillance to minimise the risk of importing variants of concern.” No suggestion of that in the official communication. Abdul_Latif
Serious question. Who is gonna enforce the need for a pre departure test in Scotland?
vikingTON
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/sep/17/no-10-accused-of-sidelining-behaviour-experts-on-latest-covid-measures Quote Prof Robert West, a behavioural scientist at University College London who participates in Sage’s behavioural science subgroup, SPI-B, said that while the committee had not been formally stood down, he had the “strong impression it is no longer functioning”. “The sense I have is that there’s just no interest in evidence or science on the behavioural side,” he said. That'll probably be because the 'behavioural side' turned out to be a bunch of utter fucking psychos intent on 'nudging' society to their own, OCD vision of normality. Quote Prof Susan Michie, the director of the Centre for Behaviour Change at University College London and another SPI-B participant, said: “Sage and many others are predicting rising rates of Covid and other respiratory viruses and serious NHS pressures, and there is considerable uncertainty [about] the scale of the problems we are going to see over the winter. Sage has pointed out that what happens will depend to a considerable extent on people’s behaviour. “Now is not the time to lose independent behavioural scientific advice to government, whether or not they choose to use it.” This would be the same SAGE that predicted cases would double to a minimum of 100,000 per day when their beloved face coverings and distancing were launched into the bin in England two months ago - with 200,000 being their ballpark figure. Instead cases dropped by one-third! No wonder all these clowns are getting shunted out the door then. Useless, knicker-wetting freaks. Elixir
Again, the Simps literally told us this morning that the Scottish Government would not be pulling this pathetic nonsense regarding international travel. Can we get a statement from them, please?

DeeTillEhDeh
On their behalf. Nicola is always right, reckless tories, SG keeping us safe ad nauseam. I'll be the first to admit that I've been defensive of the Scottish Government in the past - but with domestic vaccine passports, and now this nonsense, I am quite frankly, pissed off.The authoritarian streak within the SNP is going to be their downfall if they are not careful.

welshbairn
Just to remind the hysterical nellies on here, the Scottish Government has not made a decision on testing, despite the BBC spin and no doubt other sources. -
