We did test most folk coming in with respiratory type symptoms during flu season. There was a wee machine they basically spat into a wee sample tube and it told you whether they had Flu A, Flu B or something else like RSV. We didn’t routinely test for asymptomatic flu patients, I don’t think, (I know some places do as its a fairly quick, simple and accurate test) however: A. Being asymptomatic with flu is rarer than being asymptomatic with Covid, probably due to lower uptake on flu vaccines. B. Asymptomatic folk with Covid are almost as infectious if not as infectious as symptomatic punters. Asymptomatic folk with Flu are significantly less infectious.

I was meaning currently, as it transitions to becoming less and less severe I imagine it will change.
Suspect Device
Looking at the replies to Dave Cormack's tweet last night, I guess I'm in the minority in wanting my life back. A lot of the replies were from folk who are simply happy to accept whatever Sturgeon and Leitch say without question.
TheScarf
£6000 for every pub in the country. Six fucking thousand . They should get the jail for that.
craigkillie
Looks like shutting down large parts of the NHS for months is starting to bite. Who could have saw this coming...This man is perhaps the thickest journalist alive, so I'd be waiting on literally anyone else to confirm this. He's the one that claimed that keeping football stadiums open in March 2020 was responsible for high covid rates in the surrounding areas in December 2020.

deegee
Just plucked 3 fixtures from Boxing Day, at Aberdeen, Hearts and Rangers. There will be no more than 500 folk attending these events, yet 1.5 miles from Pittodrie is Union Square shopping centre, South Gyle is 4 miles from Tynecastle and Ibrox is 3 miles from both Silverburn and Braehead centres. Thousands of shoppers congregating, travelling from all over Scotland, multi generational and there’ll be more than 500 folk maskless eating burgers in the food courts at 3pm on Sunday in these shopping areas. it is not a public health matter now and the clubs ought to challenge this restriction. This is a virtual lockdown by stealth and cessation of business for specific industries; hospitality and outdoor/ sports events and the lunatics in Government need their wings clipped.
Binos
No surprise But apparently vast majority of people in hospital are unvaccinated We have fucked this again by not mandating vaccinations You can't drag people kicking and screaming but if you made it law and handed out fines the take up would be more -
ICTChris
Someone send this to the First Minister, she'll be getting one installed at Bute House by the end of the week. In fact, she'll probably mandate this for entry to nightclubs. Edited December 23, 2021 by ICTChris

Pubs to close from 8, inevitably, will be the next step. You just can’t make these moves without furlough. All faith I had in Sturgeon has gone. Michael W
The 'easy targets' list being worked through. That's football crowds constrained and nightclubs shut for three weeks. mizfit
That’s nightclubs now closed from Boxing Day. Right, so basically we watch Drakefords conference to find out what’s happening in 3 days?

We have mountains of evidence that obesity is a major factor in how severe Covid can be, so if they actively stop people keeping fit it is beyond disgraceful.

A year ago she was talked about as the best politician in the UK and Boris was a laughing stock but now people are leaving the SNP in their droves. Some are talking about voting for Boris. It's unbelievable. What a turnaround. Nobody would have predicted this. It's crazy. I would agree, That IS unbelievable. Whatever people may feel about Sturgeon, the SG and the restrictions, it would take a rather warped individual who had any sort of socialist leanings or indeed common decency to suddenly vote for a raving lunatic populist and his party of corrupt, self serving elitist scum.......
deegee
You would think somebody in the SNP would have some balls and have a quiet word in Sturgeon’s ear, to remind her she serves the people and is now acting unbalanced and is in serious overreach of power. Her cuckold fanboys and fa girls wouldn’t dare utter a word but I’ve always had some respect for Angus Robertson. Seems a very level headed and experienced politician, who would look at the bigger picture, rather than the insular core of the leadership.

I’ve been saying this for ages. Many, many times, I have talked about the crowds in Braehead, Silverburn, etc. Braehead is a regular haunt of mine. It’s absolutely fcuking mental now. Public health my arse. Even up in the Antonine Centre in Cumbernauld, it’ll be busy. Livingston Outlets anyone? Folk out there spending Christmas money or looking for stuff in the sales? Rammed. These fcukers in Holyrood need their fcuking ashets slapped. Edited December 23, 2021 by pozbaird
