I'm guessing here, but he said offshore, so possibly a case of a covid test before he goes back offshore.

And probably strict rules if he wants paid after a positive test.

I'm probably missing somethin g here.

Who is stopping you going back to work next week?

Why would you not go back to work if you are well enough to do so?

Primarily, I'd be making myself a close contact by sleeping in the same house as a positive Covid case, which would stop me going back out as per company / govt rules.

Additionally, it's pretty high risk seeing as I can't go back should I catch Covid off my other half.

The ventilation stuff should be the least of their problems in schools right now.

There is a far bigger elephant in the room - the numbers of pupils and staff off self-isolating.

Lady week we had S5/S6 pupils messaged on the Thursday not to cone into period 2 on the Friday as there wasn't enough staff to cover absent staff. This week was worse - our school had to pull in seconded staff from DCC as there wasn't enough staff to provide cover on Monday and Friday. Even with that, at one point yesterday, they still had 80 pupils in the school assembly hall and another 40 in the school library - being supervised by one DHT and the Head. The rest of the week they were doubling up or dispersing classes - just not good enough.

If it continues this way their scenario 2 will go right out the window.

That's surely bound to settle very soon though.

The latest amendments should be sufficient.

"Do not go home or you won't get paid" would be ridiculous.

Doggy style would be my advice. Keep the breath away from you.

It’s over.

Just wish the SG would realise it.

There's endemic and then there's endemic, it''s certainly not over when 1729 people have died in the last 7 days after contracting it - one more crass comment to add to the list.

That number is far lower than the average number of deaths pre-pandemic.

The -1,345 is how much lower than normal.

Err, have died within 28 days of a positive test result. Mortality rates have also since returned to expected, pre-pandemic levels. I suggest you come to terms with this.

Honestly, these people are the absolute worst. Immortality is not a thing.

Meanwhile, I noticed Hong Kong are finally packing it in. I wonder if China will wait until after the Olympics or drag it out until the CCP national congress before letting rip. Probably the latter.

People die.

Keep up.

Respiratory deaths this year to date including Covid are lower than most pre pandemic years.

That number will come right down once the SG chops everyone's doors to bits.

Just noticed that a meta-study of 24 surveys found that imposing a compulsory lockdown, as opposed to allowing citizens to use common sense, reduced the mortality rate by just 0.2%. In our first wave, 52000 deaths, this equates to 100 lives. Consider also, the lives lost due to undetected cancers, neglected treatment, mental illness, etc. The result is that lockdowns failed miserably and probably cost 1000’s of lives.

Just remember how anyone who opposed governments lockdown policies were vilified through media outlets and forums like this one. The condemnation was almost universal.

I recall people who opposed lockdowns such as Peter Hitchens, James Delingpole, Jonathon Sumption, Toby Young,Fraser Nelson and JHB- heroes all.

On this forum we know who the heroes are - no need to name them.
The time will shortly come when more and more studies will come out like the one I quote from John Hopkins and Lund Universities showing just how big a disaster those failed policies have been from an economic, health and well-being perspective have been.

It beggars belief that the SG is still enforcing their more and more ludicrous rules through legal enforcement and failing to entrust their citizens to make their own decisions.

“Just noticed” aye?

Post the video that refers to the study you are on about.
