RandomGuy.
Squad Review 20234 Goalkeepers Palmers only game was the final day win against Hibs. Clark superb. Just realised I should probably screenshot the keepers with conceded/clean sheet stats. Defenders Adam May and Darboe should be in the midfield section, but they've been training as CBs which has bumped them down here. My error not editing the list, but still gutted from the Final so can't be bothered. Miller had a solid 6 months which should stand him in good stead for next season. Midfielders Ewing is a total star, but Leeds have started sniffing about, so his days here are probably now numbered. Looks unlikely Connelly, McCall or Donnelly will be back, and a decision to be made on Jamie Walker. Heath like Miller, a really solid 6 months which should help him start next season well. Strikers Smith the huge star, and I genuinely didn't expect that. Ruths figures hugely improved by 5 goals in the final game. Intend on making a signing in here.
Miguel Sanchez
Unlucky. In FM07 I remember a Celtic owned by a Paraguayan billionaire who won five trebles in a row. It was horrendous playing them in the cups.

Theyve just signed an absolute wonderkid ahead of Bayern and Man U, and he looks like he should obliterate the league. He'll compete with Alassane Plea, Joelinton and Mariano to be first choice striker
RandomGuy.
Also, I play Krasnador in the Europa Play Off, and I've broken Saints transfer record.
RandomGuy.
A few pre-season things of note. Seems decent enough. We avoid the Betfred Cup Groups and go straight into the Play-Off round of the Europa. Bookies certainly think we should be making the top half now, after the 3rd placed finish. Just to put our standing in the league into context. And then some financial news. He left via a release clause, so there was no sell on clause, but at least we get something. With being well below budget, averaging over 7000 last season, reaching two Scottish Semis, and one Final, and obviously finishing 3rd, our bank balance now looks incredible...

RandomGuy.
So it begins. Aiming to start improving the infrastructure throughout this season, and then have an overhaul of the staff next Summer.

RandomGuy.
Decided to see how far I can push the board after getting the training facilities upgraded. They resisted the youth upgrade as they'd rather we just sign players, but managed to successfully flex enough to get it done. Youth system is key IMO, as eventually I reckon I'll reach a stage where I can't afford the quality of payer I need, so youth players can hopefully plug that gap until we catch up financially.
RandomGuy.
Summer Transfer Window 2024/25 Out Nothing too shocking. Ruth really struggled last season, last game against Hearts aside, so getting a six figure fee seems fair enough. Walker much the same, and was out of contract next Summer with little chance of getting a new one. Both allowed to leave as I wanted replacements who were genuine game changers. Rooney, Robertson and Dalton never stood a chance of being starters. Valentino Salducco joined Falkirk on loan, and Andy Murray joined League One Queens Park on loan.
RandomGuy.
Summer Transfer Window 2024/25 In Connelly deal looks imposing, but £600k is clauses either monthly or dependent on Euro qualification. Took me a solid 8 months of negotiating to finally sort something out Jamie Connelly Spoiler Reckon he'll be a Scotland regular eventually. Well worth the money, long term, and will rotate with Drey Wright initially. Luke McCormick Spoiler My, attempted, replacement for Mike McCall (he's now paying regularly, off the bench, for Southampton). Mentals were so strong and balanced it was hard to ignore, especially with such a young squad. Pascal Kpohomouh Spoiler To replace Liam Gordon as first choice CB. Kieron Bowie Spoiler My replacement for Ruth as back up to Sam Smith. Wanted something different to bring on and he fits that bill. Can also play out wide which could end up being handy. Maurizio Ceccoli Spoiler Replacement for Jamie Walker. Huge upgrade and will likely end up starting.
RandomGuy.
St Johnstone Squad 2024/25 Goalkeepers Same old. Eventually going to have to replace Clark, but theres just nothing out there. Defenders Ralston, Kpohomouh, Griffiths, Harvie, thats the starting backline. Miller can cover RB and CB, Lemon can cover LB and CB. Gordon the reliable back up. Pretty happy. Hoping Miller is ready to replace Griffiths next Summer. Midfielders DLP: Ewing/Darboe/May BBM: May/McCormick AP: Heath/Slivka Wingers then make up their own mind. Just now I've not actually decided how to use Bowie yet tbh, so hes in midfield as thats his strongest role. Strikers Tried to punt Anderson but nobody bit. Add Bowie as an option here aswell. I mentioned Ross a season or two back, and ideally would've loaned him out again, but nobody wanted him. Will try and give him as much game time as possible but Smith will be first choice.
RandomGuy.
Europa League Play-Offs 2024/25 My first ever venture into Europe in this save... Piece of piss. They had Mario Gotze up front but the rest was just ageing, overpaid, dross. James Tavernier was their RB and his physicals have disappeared. I think we averaged 36% possession over the two ties though, which is a worry. 3rd place gets us into the Europa Conference League, which I guess is good. Bottom sees an end to the adventure. Not even thinking about top two as we've no chance.
RandomGuy.
August 2024/25 plus one game in September that I forgot to stop before. Great start, including a pumping of Dundee. Celtic are just stupidly good, and I've to play them twice in September due to drawing them in the Cup. 40pts and safety again the target, then its all about securing the top half.
RandomGuy.
September 2024/25 Tremendous month. Brushed BATE aside which bodes well for trying to finish 3rd in that group, and, once again, ended Celtics unbeaten start. They absolutely hammered me in the Cup but I'm finding small joy in knowing I'm single handedly preventing them from having "invincible" league seasons. Sam Smith has really hit form, but we really began to struggle fitness wise by the end. Being in Europe might f**k us up a bit. Dundee apparently now 20 matches without a win. A genuine chance of 2nd? Would love a title challenge but theres no chance of that. Hoping for 3rd. RandomGuy.
October 2024/25 Month started great. Draw with PSV potentially my best result so far. Sevilla pretty much dismantled us though, and then morale and fitness vanished for the final two games. Depth is an issue. Successfully go a round of fixtures unbeaten, we don't play Celtic until mid-December so interested to see if we can keep that up until then. They will beat me at some point this season. Top half already looking good, but the dips after Europe might scupper things. Qualifying for Europe again is the aim. We play Sevilla next, while PSV are at home to BATE. We then have to travel to Eindhoven on the final day in which will probably be a decider. 3rd is what I'm hoping for, we should beat BATE.
