You seem to be under the belief St Johnstone, and their £2.3m reserves, rely on matchday crowds to survive.

Any research would show you how many miles wide of the mark you are there, but suspect you'll batter on down this road regardless.

Indeed lets ignore the fact that St Johnstone's biggest problem as it always has been, is getting punters through the door (home and away). If we'd relied on match day income, we'd be looking at being where Falkirk are now for goodness sake! It's almost as if some fans assume that the only way a football club can generate revenue is by playing football, which I'd wager isn't even close to half of how we make our money!

Im more concerned about the "where we make out money part" just now as the stadium is not making any money at all.

I am sure in the coming months that part will return to normal even if there are no fans through the turnstiles for the rest of 2020.

It's also why Hearts fans talking about boycotts when they take about a third max of that size of crowd to most places is utterly laughable. You're not important to any clubs financial health.

It was not so long ago - Hearts, Hibs and Sevco were all in the Championship - and all those clubs in the Premiership that season struggled on manfully, and are still with us.

Ken, it's fucking laughable. Big away supports are way more significant for smaller clubs than those in the Premiership. When Hibs played BSC at Alloa this season that crowd was enough to fund them for a year. If we had played Alloa instead that would not remotely be the case.

As RandomGuy has said whilst you're probably correct in that we benefited from it more this season, it was simply a trial and not something we've been doing previously or have any requirement to do to survive or make enough money. Merely by doing it we profit a little more from it and that can help fund new growth at the club.

The irony is that a resurgent Dundee United will bring far more fans to the likes of Perth, Aberdeen and probably plenty of other grounds than Hearts did for the last few seasons. There used to be a time where Hearts got both stands behind the goal in Perth (roughly 3500 seats) now they struggle to generate a 4 figure attendance, which puts them roughly at the same level of fans as Kilmarnock and Aberdeen, who we don't "need" to continue operating. The notion that this "maroon" pound is anything even worth taking note of is laughable, as is the notion from some fans that other teams in Scotland need Hearts in order to survive!

Sample of St J home attendances from this season:

25th Jan v Killie 2,609

1st Feb v Hearts 6,002

24th Nov v Aberdeen 3,917

9th Nov v Hibs 3,931

🤷‍♂️

You're missing the point here, laddy.

All 3 of Hearts, Hibs and Aberdeen can take great away supports and shite ones, depending on the circumstances. We're not categorised in the same way as the OF because they will fill out away ends pretty much regardless.

St Johnstone aren't going to fight for Hearts to be in the league on the off chance they might get a home game against you where Hearts fans bother their arses.

Was a joke.

Have to say, I expected more when I joined this place.

As was mine, as we all know it's not a boycott, it's an expulsion.
