Players and coaches complain about it. Fans hate it. Why is it there? Lets not forget thought that player coaches and fans of EPL clubs played a huge role in forcing this in the first place with constant "football is too big to have mistakes" bollocks. Of course its fine to change your mind, but we cant have EPL fans or clubs making out like this was foisted on them agaisnt their will. I agree completely. And I thought it was a stupid idea from the start. Football's not the right sport for this mince. But we're now five years into VAR and people have had the chance to live it and it is clearly widely unpopular. Time to put it in the bin.
David W
Yet the initial reaction when Morecambe were gifted a laughable penalty on Monday was to bemoan the lack of VAR. It's here to stay now. What they need to do is become much better at using it, better at explaining/accepting their errors, and sort out an automated offside system. I refuse to believe with the EPL's money they can't either make offside decided entirely by computers, or make the VAR part a lot quicker and not reliant on humans. I'm delighted it won't ever be used in Clyde matches.
DrewDon
It's reassuring that, in a time of seemingly perpetual change and uncertainty, we can rely on some things repeating themselves over and over again.

Interesting one. We keep hearing that there's so much less money available this summer etc, so it might be harder than normal for players to force this stuff through. He's probably looking for a huge transfer elsewhere to start a domino effect that gets him out. Might be a few petted lips come deadline day though.

Conte's obviously an excellent coach, but it's hilarious that his approach now seems to be 'Give me loads and loads of money'. Gamesgone, imo.

Palace have released 13 first-team players - Hennessey, Clyne, Kelly, Ward, Dann, Cahill, Sahko, Woods, Van Aanholt, McArthur, McCarthy, Townsend and Wickham. The average is around 30 and remaining squad of around 13/14 players has 6 that are 30 or over. Hodgson's successor will have a very tough job to build a competitive team. Even if Palace sell Zaha and Eze, It's hard to see where the necessary money will come from. A relegation battle looks likely. Who would really want that job? Sam Allardyce?

Shameful.

DrewDon
Looks like Buendia is signing for Aston Villa. If they can keep Grealish, those two in the same team should be fun to watch.
Brummie Clyde
Hope I'm not wrong, but I'd be amazed if we sold Grealish this year. Our owners mean business.

Brummie Clyde
Linked with Ward-Prowse now. Would be useful, as we were rubbish at set pieces last season.
