Depends on whether they want to appeal beyond their hardcore/staunch vote - if they want to do so then SK is probably about as bad an option as they could choose.

Do we think it’s on an Angela Rayner scale or a Michael Matheson scale? Plenty of scope for whataboutery in any case

SandyCromarty
Can't wait for FMQs on Thursday though I wonder if the rat will turn up for it. Gallacher will get the job with Fud Fraser a close last.

On 10/06/2024 at 10:13, Sherrif John Bunnell said: This reeks of somebody who would rather not have any more scrutiny of his expenses claims. On 10/06/2024 at 10:21, Michael W said: I am shocked to find that a man who has three jobs is an opportunist moneygrabber. He's resigning as leader, because he's fallen short* of the standards required. He's resigning as an MSP, because he's fallen short of the standards required. But being an MP remains just fine, seemingly, even though that's where these expenses issues have arisen from. Impeccable logic, here, from a power-crazed moron. This is fraud. If any one of us in a normal job claimed expenses that were outside of policy in the way that Ross has, we'd be sacked. Perhaps censured and made to pay it back in the event that it was an isolated and genuine error, but Ross has no defence here. To take one example (and you only need one), there are claims for London - Glasgow flights, which are out of policy, plus car parking, for dates that he was officiating a Celtic game. He's been caught. He's a fraudster. On a different note, the SFA should be investigating him as well. A man that is as dishonest as Douglas Ross should not be officiating football matches. On 10/06/2024 at 14:45, SandyCromarty said: Nail on the head there, and it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't turn up for FMQs this week saying that he is campaigning for the westminster seat, a horrible disgrace of a man who made so much noise over Mathieson and his expenses claim. A jumped up little disreputable opportunist shit from a working class background who saw the tories as a vehicle to make dishonest money and get away with it. I know for a fact he is despised among all of the political organisations in Moray. And among the political leaders at Holyrood where he is seen as a shit stirrer. I have no time for Ross. He does himself no favours. I'm not sure people jumping in with 2 feet was unreasonable. The man resigned as the leader of his party in Scotland in the middle of a general election campaign in the immediate aftermath of a series of allegations about expenses claims. Either of these things provoking a resignation from your post would be enough to spark any amount of conjecture. There must be a sound reason for not waiting until after the election to resign?
