HibeeJibee
Talk in the Glasgow Cup thread about how many cups have been held-over from last season... Scottish Cup down... made me recall attending 2011-12 edition Forfarshire Cup Final at Tannadice which was actually played early in 2013-14 i.e. some 2 seasons late. It has become common for cups to be held-over once - but I can see few examples of twice or more. Anyone add to this? What about other countries? Five Seasons Late? Forfarshire Cup 1976-77 ... SF played 22 Aug 1978 ... Dundee Utd 1-0 Montrose ... Final played 30 Jul 1981 ... Arbroath 0-3 Dundee Utd this does sound too far-fetched and Dundee Utd centenary history doesn't list it as such Three Seasons Late Dewar Shield 1950-51 ... Final played 27 May 1954 ... Dundee 2-2 Aberdeen (declared joint winners ) Forfarshire Cup 1979-80 ... SF played 1 Aug 1981 ... Dundee 2-0 Brechin ... Final played 7 Aug 1982 ... Dundee 1-2 Dundee Utd Two Seasons Late Dewar Shield 1965-66 ... Final played 22 Nov 1967 ... Dundee Utd 5-1 St Johnstone Dewar Shield 1966-67 ... Final played 2 May 1969 ... Dundee 0-0 St Johnstone (St Johnstone won on toss) Dewar Shield 1968-69 ... Final played 23 Mar 1971 ... Falkirk 4-0 St Johnstone East of Scotland Shield 1948-49 ... Final played 15 May 1951 ... Hibs 2-1 Hearts Forfarshire Cup 1948-49 ... Final Replay played 23 Aug 1950 ... Dundee 2-0 Arbroath Forfarshire Cup 1974-75 ... Final (at Arbroath) played 4 Aug 1976 ... Dundee Utd 3-1 Montrose Forfarshire Cup 1975-76 ... SF played 30 Jul 1977 ... Dundee Utd 2-1 Montrose ... Final played 8 May 1978 ... Dundee Utd 3-1 Dundee Forfarshire Cup 2011-12 ... Final played 27 Aug 2013 ... Dundee Utd 1-1 St Johnstone (2-4p) King Cup 1950-51 ... Final played 8 Nov 1952 ... Hearts B 3-0 Hibs B Lanarkshire Cup 1960-61 ... Final played 24 Sep 1962 ... Airdrie 3-2 Motherwell (aet) Penman Cup 1926-27 ... Final played 22 Aug 1928 ... Raith 0-2 Alloa Renfrewshire Cup 1914-15 ... Final 2nd Leg played 17 Apr 1917 ... Morton 4-0 Johnstone (4-3 agg) Renfrewshire Cup 1939-40 ... Final played 2 Sep 1941 ... St Mirren 4-1 Morton

tamthebam
Edinburgh City were due to play Camelon in the East of Scotland (City) Cup Semi Final last season which may have been the tournament from the season before. Unfortunately Camelon's lights were deemed not strong enough and the game was postponed and Covid struck. Perhaps @HibeeJibee can clarify but I think that makes the City Cup two seasons behind now.
Arch Stanton
The last time the Renfrewshire Cup was held was 2014-15

It was 2018-19's. Understand it's been abandoned.

Unfortunately usual go-to online newspaper archive is not use - literally just teams and score, as fell day after Charles & Di's wedding. Dundee Utd centenary book says 1978-79 final i.e. 3 seasons late. Inaugural edition of Fairs Cup started tail-end 1954-55 and finished tail-end 1957-58 which is 3 seasons 'late'... but was never expected to take only 1 or 2 seasons.

sfha
The county's bigger clubs began entering from 1910 until it became an amateur competition from 1929. Edited December 4, 2020 by sfha
