I was sitting texting my pal during the game calling Erwin and McAllister all the donkeys under the sun. Football has a funny habit of making you look quite stupid. Fair play to Goodwin as it couldn’t have worked out better.

JG said in his post match interview on SMTV that Erwin was one of the players badly affected by CoviD. That's several of our players now that seem to have been badly knocked by it.  We've not just been hit by docked games and self-isolating but also the virus itself. Maybe we haven't seen the best of Erwin yet as a result?

This is spot on. Was interesting that Steve Bruce was saying that although a number of Newcastle players had recovered from Covid, a lot of them were physically struggling after being given the all clear. If that is the case with Saints, then perhaps the best is yet to come

Here's hoping. Like most players he maybe needs a run in the team, but difficult to get that when he's generally not made much of an impression in the time he's played. He took his goal well today though and his shot in the first half was a ddcent effort.

- 3 goals a better keeper would save

EDIT: 3rd is unsaveable - feel the first two were definitely within his reach with a bit of composure

Having just watched the highlights, I think this is a little harsh on Clark.

The first was a volley right on the penalty spot that nestles perfectly in the top corner - a keeper is going have a hell of a job to reach that.

The second you could maybe say he should’ve made up the ground to the near post quicker following the cross but the header shaved the post as it went in.

Third, as you say, was always going to be difficult to stop. A bullet header from around 5 yards out.

Nothing to do with the keeper,  all down to defensive lapses in concentration.

I don’t think the keeper can be blamed. Maybe can do better at the 2nd but need a helluva keeper to save the 1st and 3rd.

Actually can see why it’s a red we’ve had similar soft ones. 15 years ago you’d be fine but the way the game is now, that kind of thing is a red.
