We colonised and conquered about a quarter of the world's landmass. Therefore you don't have to go far to find someone who shares our monarchy, legal structures, language and historical connections.
Think about India, massive economy, world's largest democracy. Singapore, huge financial hub, mostly democratic, all English speakers. Two largish, open democracies in the Pacific region. Surely would make more sense than New Zealand, for example.

Of course, the people behind it articulate wider reasons than I touched on, as stated I loosely support the idea but I'm not the person making the fundamental argument, here's what they would say about why those countries specifically - https://www.canzukinternational.com/2016/02/free-movement-why-just-canada-australia.html

I'm sure New Zealand would always come into the question when dealing with Australia on such a large scale change. Doesn't bother me though I don't think I'll ever visit either country in my life even with free movement.

The CANZUK thing will be something that doesn't really go anywhere but will get millions chucked at it and make a couple of tories rich, would be my guess.

A free trade agreement with the Falklands, Uganda and Pakistan would be more useful. FUKUP.

US navy commander goes rogue in the South China Sea after being buzzed by the Chinese air force and shoots one down, Chinese retaliate by torpedoing its engines, ten US sailors dead and ship's adrift. Urgent talks take place to deescalate, Biden called a pussy by Trump and imposes sweeping sanctions on China.

It'll get dropped when they find out there are black people in Canada.

Scotland

  • SNP win outright majority in May's election
  • George Galloway and his "party" perform as pathetically as expected.
  • Greens don't fare as well as had been expected
  • Labour's utterly disastrous showing sees Leonard binned and replaced by the Jacqui Baillie, continuing SLAB's impressively consistent run of replacing each hapless leader with one even more useless.
  • Douglas Ross slithers in on the list, but suffers repeated humiliations at FMQs. He will survive the year though with the Tories not stabbing him in the back until 2022.
  • The Lib Dems will ... f**k it who cares.
  • Polls will continue to show a pro-indy lead but there will be little or no movement on it until 2022 imo
  • Yes Da's will be absolutely seething at the previous bullet point

UK-wide

  • Johnson will be stabbed in the back by the 1922 Committee's machinations as he has now served his purpose. Gove will replace him.
  • Starmer will continue to provide utterly beige opposition and the Tories, no longer hamstrung by the talking haystack will resume a commanding lead in the polls
  • Labour will controversially abstain on a Welfare vote which includes proposals to return Universal Credit to pre-Covid levels and continue to commit similar acts of political suicide throughout the year
  • The Lib Dems will ... f**k it who cares.

'Murica

  • Trump's eventual removal from the White House won't be as hilarious as hoped. He'll leave voluntarily but will refuse to meet Biden and will have a mini-tantrum in a press conference afterwards and prompt the Proud Boys to take some action.
  • The Republicans will take at least one of the George senate seats and Biden will be able to achieve f**k all in his term.
  • Trump's attempts to avoid prosecution will fail, however he won't do any jail time but will be considerably poorer. He will blame everyone else but himself.
  • Melania will divorce him

Covid

  • The vaccines will ultimately prove successful, however governments both north and south of the border will make an arse of delivery in the early stages
  • Restrictions will remain in some form until well into summer
  • All airlines will require passengers to show proof of vaccination resulting in hilarious tears from anti-vax fuckwits
  • Nigel Farage will start a party to promote the rights of anti-vaxxers
  • He still won't win any election
  • He will die of Covid in a most pleasing irony.

Didn't Biden say that Trump should've forced China to accept US scientist missions into Wuhan? Can see the hard turn against China to continue.

Not sure, but Biden said they had a team of a hundred specialists based in China before Covid kicked off, Trump had pulled them out a while before.

Aye I was more focusing on Biden saying “What I would do were I president now, I would not be taking China’s word for it. I would insist that China allow our scientists in to make a hard determination of how it started, where it’s from, how far along it is. Because that is not happening now."

Yeah, I don't think he's going to get cuddly about tariffs either, the Dems have been in favour of them anyway. His main beef with Trump on China was that he made no effort to bring the rest of the world on board to stop what he thinks are unfair trade practices.

From the few Quebecois I've interacted with that kind of talk is likely to get you stabbed.

Violent are they?

I'll call them francophone in future to avoid any trouble. Unless I'm trying to mock Gammons' imaginary cultural affinity with Canada, in which case they will be French.

In Scotland. SNP to win a majority. Not get approval from Westminster for a referendum, leading to infighting in the SNP. But also people leaving the unionist parties, to pick a side in the SNP split. Tories drop a little in the vote. And labour. Drop to fourth.

Brexit, and poor management of vaccinations leave the country in a mess for the foreseeable. A new left party to emerge in England.

Elsewhere in the world. Biden to antagonise anyone seen as an enemy of America, and build on trump's legacy of isolating the US politically. Markus Soder to replace Merkel in Germany. Taking the country on a more conservative route. Turkey gets into a few scuffles with its neighbours, but no full scale war...yet. Putin retires. Causing a massive this is your Life, style festival of Putin to break out in Russia.

The SNP will win a majority and refused a S30 from UK Gov.

This will lead to civil unrest and riots on the streets lead by myself. I will be arrested and thrown into prison for 15 years for inciting riots.

Scotland will become independent 4 years into my sentence  and I will miss the party.
