You condone an adult punching a 14 year old. That's all I need to know.

You don't have the common sense to see that on rare occasions that might be the only choice. That's all I need to know.

You surely can't leave this here! Spill the beans 🤔

You know what its like with rumors but this one seems to hold water. Player ask for his contract and when he got it it had been signed by someone else, wasn't his sgnature on it! You hope its not true cos forging players contracts is pretty low

Presumably though he knew he had a contract or he wouldn't have asked for it? And surely he would have signed one or he couldn't play?

Headline on the Courier site about Kevin Harper taking Lochee United to court. Anyone able to get past the firewall?

Copy and paste the url into google search, then access the cached version.

Kevin Harper has launched legal action against Lochee United following his contentious sacking, Courier Sport can reveal.

Lawyers acting on behalf of the former Hibernian and Portsmouth winger lodged papers claiming wrongful dismissal and breach of contract with the Scottish Courts & Tribunal Service last week.

Lochee United JFC and the current members of its committee are understood to be the subject of the complaint. They have until the end of March to respond.

The case is expected to be heard in April.

Five-day reign

Harper, 47, was named Lochee manager on November 15, 2022, succeeding long-serving boss George Shields.

Speaking at the time, the ex-Scotland under-21 internationalist beamed: “I am excited to get started and looking forward to supporting the club’s goal of using football to improve the lives of the local community.”

However, his reign lasted just FIVE DAYS.

He was dismissed on November 20, with Lochee claiming the appointment had NOT been ratified by the club’s committee and expressing concerns regarding the finances involved in the move.

A Lochee source described the situation as “embarrassing”.

The lamentable saga prompted club president Graeme Carling and secretary Marc Stanton to step down.

Mr Carling subsequently aimed a broadside at long-serving Lochee committee member Larry Duncan during an explosive interview with Courier Sport, accusing him of orchestrating a “coup” against Harper.

The matter will now be settled in the courts.

Typical game of 2 halves for us yesterday in Blair. A woeful first half and we deserved to be 1-0 down at half time. Prince Asare (our loanee from Peterhead) came on in the second half, he has been injured and is now coming back. He made an impact even though he didn't score, he did play an important part in the build-up to some goals. The second half was excellent (not just down to Prince I should say, others also deserve credit) and based on that performance the win was definitely deserved.

What is going on at Forfar West End? They seem to have imploded over the last year or two.

Not sure really, 9-0 against Arbroath Vics seems pretty extreme. They definitely used to be stronger. Forfar United on the other hand have definitely improved over the same time period, is one connected to the other?

Wonder if it's worth thinking about 2 divisions again now.

The league is actually not too bad this year but we are just away to move into no fucks given and chucking it season.

You've certainly got enough cups going on to take up the slack if you cut down the top league to 14 or 16. Would there be enough clubs below to make up the numbers in a lower section? Folk have talked about going 10/10 for the Highland League, I really hate the idea. The way it is now most clubs just want to just improve their league position from the season before, which is fine, with a handful going for glory or avoiding demotion disaster.

All it needs now is for Luncarty, Kinnoull and Jeanfield to do a flit and the old Tayside region of the SJFA is back. No idea how likely that is but it would make a two division format easier than 10-10 would be, which is one abeyance or promotion away from a division that is clearly too small.
