vikingTON Posted March 30, 2021 Posted March 30, 2021 A return to the scene of Jonatan Johannson's absolute fucking abortion of a display*, in being papped out of the Scottish Cup two seasons ago. We go into this one at least looking somewhat less ropey and keen on revenge to use the newspaper trope. There should be a few winnable ties in the next round so a decent cup run would be a welcome distraction/potential money-spinner later on. Other than perhaps saving Jacobs to play a crucial game at home to Inverness next week, I'd go with our strongest available line-up. With East Fife playing twice this midweek there can be absolutely no excuses for failing to win, but without any serious firepower up front I can see us making heavy weather of it. 0-1 * Spoiler one of many 0 Quote
The Ghost of B A R P Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Big complication here is that game against ICT on the Tuesday. Ordinarily, we should be all out to get through and see what might await in the next round... but the reality is he'll need to think carefully about the kind of team he's able to put out for the next game, which could either relieve the pressure altogether... or drop us right back into the frame for finishing 9th. Still, feeling a wee bit better about things now that it's become clear that Raith are actually Bayern... 0 Quote
Paisley Ton Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 Sterling to bag 3 or be sent home to Spurs. Yes EF like us will see league survival as no1 priority. While I expect a either a 0-1 or 0-4 as the likely outcome not sure of the merits of a cup run this season.. Yes, it might cheer some of the supporters up but it will affect league performances and also fill the Raes coffers. -1 Quote
Dunning1874 Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 1 hour ago, Paisley Ton said: Yes EF like us will see league survival as no1 priority. Have you looked at the League One table? Although their fixture list isn't going to help, East Fife's priority will be breaking into the promotion playoffs and they'll be looking at this tie as a great chance to progress against a team they may be meeting again in those playoffs. The fact they'll have played Tuesday & Thursday in the build up should undoubtedly be an advantage, but in normal circumstances we'd be far from clear favourites here. If MacPherson decides that likes of McLean and Jacobs need a rest just because we have a massive game on Tuesday and staying up is more important than a cup run then fair enough and I won't argue with it, because if we don't take three points on Tuesday night our route to survival looks increasingly difficult. It certainly won't be coming from a place of a weakened team being good enough to beat East Fife though. 0 Quote
Stevie Aitken's Love Child Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 Confirmed on the Morton website as £10 for the stream for Saturday. Was reading that there were some issues with your stream last weekend, has that been a regular occurrence? 0 Quote
Mon_The_Fife Posted April 1, 2021 Posted April 1, 2021 Can’t really see us playing a full strength team, which is a shame but the amount of league fixtures in such a short space of time means that we have to rotate the squad. Not too fussed about going out the Scottish Cup so long as we can push for top 4. 0 Quote
LauraEFFC Posted April 2, 2021 Posted April 2, 2021 Confirmed on the Morton website as £10 for the stream for Saturday. Was reading that there were some issues with your stream last weekend, has that been a regular occurrence? The issue on Saturday was due to a problem with our website host’s server. The stream itself was fine, people just could access the website to see it. That had now been fully fixed and there were no problems getting on the website last night. 1 Quote
vikingTON Posted April 2, 2021 Author Posted April 2, 2021 I see that East Fife cleverly took the opportunity of playing lowly 'Clyde' to rotate their squad and still get a win last night. There can still be no excuse for a full time side with all week to focus on this game not getting the job done though. 0 Quote
Venti Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Fife. You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious. 0 Quote

King Kebab Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 HTEast Fife 0-0 MortonStrong start from Morton but then followed a period of play where we absolutely bossed it for around 25 minutes or so where Morton couldn’t get the ball off us and where we really should have scored, perhaps even a couple, would like to see that penalty claim again!!!Morton ended strongly so expecting more from them in the second half, but Brett Long still hasn’t had a save to make yet so more of the same please!!! 0 Quote
Venti Posted April 3, 2021 Posted April 3, 2021 Usually a nice ride in the car up the east coast. Nice wee fishing villages. Then you get to Methil. Pretty much condensed Ayrshire in Fife. 0 Quote
