I heard on the radio or a podcast recently that the amount of young English footballers in the premier league is at the highest level in about 20yrs. This is generally the case around all the top sides in Europe, if you look at Bayern, Juve, Real etc. they are all filled with foreigners, very rarely do any of these sides have more than 3-4 homegrown players in their first 11 and these are clubs from the best footballing nations in the world. Our best side Rangers have 1 Scottish starter in their first 11 and he's a 39yr old keeper.
