A few good teams in this cup , do we think this could be the main domestic cup to win rather than the SJC

Well less than half of the clubs in the SCC are also in the Junior Cup so for most it is already the main domestic cup to try and win. And when look you at the teams remaining the SCC has better quality at this stage, with some big games coming up. The winners will have played a few of the top LL/EOS/WOS clubs on their way to lifting the trophy.

SCC QF (if the favourites win their games): East Kilbride, Pollok, Auchinleck, Darvel, Spartans, Linlithgow, Beith, Bonnyrigg

Junior Cup QF: Dyce, Yoker, Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Arthurlie, Largs, Petershill, Shotts, Auchinleck

Should the final be like a SJCup final occasion but will it be? as it doesn't hold the same name and history but is probably more difficult to win.

Cumbernauld 0 Petershill 1

Our management had made it clear that this was the least important of the 3 competitions we are still involved in, and the team selection reflected that with 6 under 21 debutants, and only Steven McNeil and Scott Brodie having any great experience in the side. Steven pulled off several great stops in the first half, but we grabbed a win with a late goal from Evan Gallasso. He looked miles offside as the ball was played through to him, but he finished with a low shot under the keeper and the flag the defence were waiting for never came.

At the game we all thought Evan was miles offside, but Davie who was filming sent me a still of where he was when the ball was played, it was certainly a lot tighter than we all thought at the match.

Of our starting 11, six were making their debut, and two others were making their 2nd and 3rd starts respectively. Really thought we would struggle in the second half as the youngsters would tire on a heavy surface against much more experienced opponents, but they dug out a result.dc601d9eb12f0af0098faa9238b4ef69.jpg

Vale of Leven 1-3 Spartans.

Our South Challenge Cup run comes to an end at the Last Sixteen stage, but a strong performance against Lowland League opposition. There will be four tiers between these two sides next season, but there was nothing to suggest that on the park today.
