Sonam
John Martyn certainly nailed some hits in this live performance. The fact that a genius musician who should have been even more famous than he was played in Lerwick is again a sign of his class. I've a lot of respect for big musicians who take their music to the Islands & remote places of the Highlands. It's clearly not about money then. Reminder too that the Beatles played in Dingwall & Strathpeffer back in the day
TheScarf
Wonderful lyrics and wonder singing from a wonderful singer in Grace Slick and a rare genre of song in the fact that it's just one long crescendo, which gives it a haunting presence. Pink (I know, I know) does a superb cover of it too that Slick herself has commended. It's wild that a few from this band, including Slick, later inflicted the terrible 'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us' and 'We Built This City' on us all. Two absolute shockers.
scottsdad
Jefferson Airplane always remind me of this video. Not, by any means, a perfect song.

Sonam
Just leaving these 3 songs here. How I wish I was old enough to have seen them live. Anyone???
Sonam
For a band that started in 1981 (albeit pop at the time) Al Jourgensen was well ahead of his time.

I'd swap my music era with yours in seconds flat!!! Not many bands like Thin Lizzy where each individual is a total musical genius as well as having a front man like Phip Lynott who I rate as highly as Hendrix (albeit different instrument). For me, Thin Lizzy looked better live than Led Zeppelin tbh.

Mark Connolly
This might not be a perfect song, but it is THE perfect Country and Western song
