Guest
Mentioned in that interview is Volodymyr Yakulenko, who was murdered by Russian occupiers last year. He was author of "Daddy's Book", a popular children's book in Ukraine. Yakulenko had also written a war journal that he'd buried in his garden, it was dug up after his death and later published by Victoria Amelina. As explained in the above interview, Yakulenko was from near Kharkiv, a region many people evacuated away from when Russia invaded. He chose not to because it would've been very difficult for his severely disabled son to leave home. War cuts off overnight the systems of care that disabled people and other vulnerable cohorts rely upon within societies.

TxRover
Lukashenko now quoted as reporting Prigozhin is in Russia again…and Wagner troops are in their field camps…also reporting that Prigozhin has had the money and weapons confiscated returned to him. The deal may have allowed Prigozhin time in Russia to settle his affairs, but this isn’t adding any stability to Russia might explain their latest OTT response to the delays caused at the Moscow airport by reported Ukrainian drones.

Given a nominal CEP of 3m, it’s clear they hit their target. Russian sources describing the apartment complex as a military training facility. Either their intelligence is badly lacking or they simply make this s**t up for internal consumption. Whoever ends up overthrowing/replacing Putin will have it made executing whomever he wishes and blaming them for the target selection in this SMO.
ICTChris
The next package of US military aid will include cluster munitions, according to sources. Sure to be controversial but these bombs are something Ukraine have been asking for for several months, wanting the capacity they provide and wanting their effectiveness against heavily dig in positions. The main objection to cluster bombs is that they are indiscriminate and can leave unexplored ordnance behind. I guess when it comes to the unexplored bombs, that ship has sailed in terms of Eastern and Southern Ukraine. On the former the US DoD have said they will use updated munitions with a lower dud rate.

It's basically like the Schengen zone that way. The interesting angle is maybe how much weaponry the Wagner troops still have access to and who is paying them at this point. They are being kept around for a reason unless a surprise trip to Katyn Forest is in their future but that seems unlikely. Maybe because Putin can't afford to have too much power concentrated into a tiny handful of his underlings who get along with each other too well or he could wind up being ousted in a similar manner to Nikita Khrushchev.
TommyDickFingers
Cluster munitions getting all the headlines while this is a thing is criminal. Jury-rigged anti drone system. Beautiful.

Fined the same Turkish club just for singing Putin's name, so why don't Kyiv get a fine for directly getting involved? Seems a bit hypocritical from them, that does.

I'd suggest allowances can be made for people whose apartment blocks are being bombed by Russia, unlike the Fenerbahçe fans singing Putin's praises.
Dev
"Russian media outlets are now reporting that Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov has just left Russia for Turkey. Incidentally, the Deputy PM happens to be the richest member of the government (at least according to reported wealth). 1:48 pm · 24 Jun 2023" · This Tweet from not so long ago. What is the latest? TxRover
Now confirmed by a Department of Defense official that the primary reason for shipping the cluster munitions to Ukraine is the lack of transferable stocks of other artillery shells. Kinda like we expected to hear.
