LongTimeLurker
Ignoring the sociopaths who want to derail the thread this advance of the Ukrainians east of the Zherebets river would be significant if accurate: The geopolitics of the next few decades will be decided by the outcome of this conflict and there is a very slight chance of nuclear weapons being used soon after the annexation process is announced so feel no need whatsoever to justify taking an interest in this.

ICTChris
Putin rolling out the hits in this speech about the annexation. 1991 catastrophe Evil West Nazi Ukrainians Russophobia. Russia won't be colonised into being slaves. He also says there should be a ceasefire. Edited September 30, 2022 by ICTChris
welshbairn
Apparently Kiev started the war in 2014 by invading themselves.
MP_MFC
I think I picked up there that the Anglo Saxons sabotaged the pipeline. His ramblings are incredible here, the translator must be questioning his life choices.
Michael W
I always think a ceasefire is a great idea when you invade a country and annex part of it. The bullets being fired back at you for doing so are just so annoying.

dorlomin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novorossiya This is what he is banging on about. Catherine the Great took some of these lands from the Ottomans in the late 18th century.

ICTChris
Putin giving a speech that sounds like a twice divorced uncle drunk posting on Facebook after Rangers have lost. What a loser.

ICTChris
Nobody seems to know how many Russian soldiers are in Lyman - I've seen some reports say 2,000, other say 5,500. Apparently the split is between LNR mobilised personnel, BARS troops (Russia's newly formed reserves who were mobilised immediately upon the invasion) and the 752nd Guards Motorised Rifle Regiment. The 752nd were surrounded and almost entirely destroyed by the Chechen rebels in 1995 during the initial Russian assault on Grozny.
welshbairn
Zelenskiy's response to Putin's phoney offer of peace talks.. Quote Ukraine was and remains a leader in negotiation efforts. It was our state that always offered Russia to reach an agreement on coexistence on equal, honest, decent and fair terms. It is obvious that this is impossible with this Russian president. He does not know what dignity and honesty are. Therefore, we are ready for a dialogue with Russia, but already with another president of Russia.
