Perhaps, but 10 Challengers and perhaps 15 Leopards would be an annoyance rather than an aid. The Challenger 2 is supposed to have been getting updated to the same gun barrel and ammo as the Leopard, if that's the case for the ones we send that's one difficulty out of the way, assuming Germany plays along. Surovkin and two others (commander and deputy commander of Russian ground forces) will operate under Gerasimov, who is the Chief of the General Staff. Lots of different reports from Soldar about Ukrainian troops being captured or not - seems difficult to now what's going on other than a Russian advance there. Prigozhin has been photographed in what he claims is Soledar and has been quoted as saying only Wagner fighters were part of the fight, all part of the politicking and fight for influence. In other news Poland will send a company of Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, as part of an international coaltiion of donors. President Duda of Poland met with Zelensky in Lviv yesterday where the shipment was finalised. Sadly, these strikes are all too common - things that would have generated headlines early in the war are kind of accepted as normal now. Ukraine are having more success shooting down the missiles and drones but some do get through. Germany provided some Gepard anti-aircraft guns which have helped and a lot of other NATO countries have sent anti-aircraft material. The Patriot missile batteries that are coming in a few months will make a huge difference as well. I'd have to look up the figures but Iran apparently sold a few thousand Shahed drones to Russia and around 6-700 have been used so far. There are estiamtes going about on how many cruise missiles the Russians have used or have left, it's difficult to really know. What is confirmed is that Russia are using less artillery in their offensives - in Bakhmut and surrounding areas they are firing significant less artillery at Ukrainian positions than they did in the summer Donbas offensive. Of course, running out of shells is going to impact the Ukrainians as well, they have already had issues getting new ammunition for their old Soviet guns, and production capacity of NATO shells isn't high enough to meet the demand. Saw this recently.
