Edit: just remembered stumbling upon a documentary about Joan Collins on the telly a few months ago. Apparently she was on the verge of bankruptcy and struggling for work when she was offered Empire of the Ants. Had a miserable time making it, but it saved her bacon and got the offers of work rolling back in, so she didn't have much bad to say about it. Very silly film, but.
