peasy23
We have one more finalist in the boxing, Reese Lynch due in the men's light welterweight at quarter past three. And he wins 4-1 on a split decision, well on top in the first 2 rounds for me, second best on the 3rd.

Might be a medal shout had she not run in the 10k. FIrst time Scotland have had three boxing golds. But the BBC site is leading on ENGLAND WOMEN'S HISTORIC HOCKEY GOLD. They've found the replacemnts for the netball malarkey.

To be fair to the England women's hockey team, a large number of that squad were part of the GB team that finished third in Tokyo and won gold in Rio, and have been one of the top teams in the world (either as part of GB or on their own) for about a decade. If anything, they haven't had enough coverage over that time. The coverage the netball team got in comparison was fucking nonsense. ETA: the head coach of the hockey team is Scotsman David Ralph, so we can claim half the medal, I think Edited August 7, 2022 by Mark Connolly

peasy23
Great run, especially with the pressure of being favourite and having bust a gut in the 800m last night.
